Le Bilboquet has been a favorite of mine since its opening. I hadn't been in a while, and last night was disappointing. It seems as though it's having an identity crisis - it can't decide whether to be an elegant French bistro (its first iteration) or a club scene restaurant with techno music focused on a loud bass. The two of us sat in a corner banquet, and the springs in the upholstery had sprung, so one seat was low and uncomfortable while the other (on the same banquette) was plush. My entree was Brochette de Gambas: $38 for 3 grilled shrimp served on a skewer over soggy spinach, 3 halved cherry tomatoes, and chunks of unripe cantaloupe. When the bill came, we were charged for a vegetable substitution whose upcharge we had not been alerted to. The server apologized and said she would take it off. The bill she came back with was the right amount, but as the two of us had split the bill, I realized that we were being each being charged more than half the bill. I quietly explained the situation to the manager, who became annoyed and said that he had taken off the incorrect charge. I explained that we appreciated that correction, but that the bill that each of us was given on our credit card charge was equal to more than 50% of the bill. He seemed annoyed that he would have to void the transaction and rerun it. Again, this has been one of my favorite restaurants since its opening. Last night it was as unrecognizable to me as a friend with a bad facelift. I hope Le Bilboquet refinds its footing. Having just been in Paris, I was looking forward to coming home to Paris in Atlanta; sadly, Le Bilboquet did not deliver.

Inside very loud and also the music to loud. The value of the price what you get of food is bad. Overpriced and small portions.

I’ve been many times in the past and give it 5 stars but this time the food was 1 star and service was not much better. Normally great service and great food. Hopefully I was there on a bad night and it will be great another time in the future.

I would never come back here. I’m only giving this place one star because the hostess at the front was kind. We had three different waiters come at different times all to get “drink orders” after we had been sitting down for quiet some time. They didn’t offer us bread service like everyone else. The waiter didn’t recommend anything. They looked bothered to even take our order. No one really “waited on us.” The host knew it was my partners birthday, I put it on the reservation twice. The table next to us, it was her birthday too. Their waiter gave them a whole sparkler firecracker thing with ice cream. We did NOT get that experience. Everyone gave us snooty looks. Everyone in the restaurant was American and we were the literal only ones that were not American. I’m tempted to say the service was because we were not “white” but I’ll let y’all make that decision for yourself. I wouldn’t recommend this place to any person of color, Asian, African american, etc etc. the lack of respect from this establishment is ridiculous.

We were able to get a quiet booth and had a wonderful meal at Bilboquette. The service was excellent and the food five stars! Salmon, chicken and steak were all delicious. A lovely evening!
