LATHA, Swahili for flavor, celebrates Africa and the diaspora’s rich and diverse cuisines. The menu curated by Executive Chef Digby Stridiron honors the interconnected journey of the foodways and culture of Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean, and the Southern United States. Our contemporary pan-African kitchen respects historical recipes and crafts cuisine from thoughtfully sourced seasonal ingredients that reveal the connections between Africa and the diaspora. It is a journey of discovery along the trails of our ancestors, telling the authentic stories of the foodways and how they have shaped eating habits and cuisine worldwide. We invite guests to join us on a flavorful journey of discovery and appreciation. LATHA, in downtown Phoenix, in Heritage Square, is a place to have a shared immersive experience with friends or family while enjoying food, drinks, music, and culture in our dining room, bar, or outside patio. As a collective, we EAT, DRINK, and VIBE!

D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : LATHA signifie « saveur » en swahili, et lorsque cet établissement a ouvert ses portes en 2023, il a fait connaître toute la diversité culinaire de la diaspora africaine vivant au Brésil, dans les Caraïbes et dans le sud des États-Unis, attirant ainsi l'attention du magazine Phoenix et de l'hebdomadaire The Infatuation. We arrived the host assisted me up the stairs a complete gentleman. We began inside and decided we wanted to be outside. And we were accommodated, we were relocated to a lovely table. There was a beautiful and talented violinist playing, he played so wonderfully. All ambients were warm and inviting. Dinner was mouthwatering it was an amazing experience.

Wow! I felt very welcome from the start. They worked with my food allergies and were very kind. It was a great experience overall. Great environment, great energy and great food! Go here and tell your friends.

I have been wanting to have a meal at Latha for some time, and this past Thursday was the night. Latha is the Swahili word that means flavor and that is what you get from the Uncle Old Fashioned (made with Uncle Nearest 1884 and Brown Sugar) to the Whipped Goat Cheese with black garlic honey and sumac to the burnt onion hummus served with chapati and the watermelon feta salad with awaze honey vinegarette and the oxtail pimento cheese grilled cheese. ALL FLAVOR! If you are in the Phoenix area, or plan to be, I would highly recommend making a reservation at Latha.

Always a great experience at Latha! It is awesome that Ms. E visits each guests and checks in. The food is a fusion of flavors in your mouth😋 Joey, our server, was very kind and very accomodating. You can never go wrong choosing to dine at Latha! #period
