LATHA, Swahili for flavor, celebrates Africa and the diaspora’s rich and diverse cuisines. The menu curated by Executive Chef Digby Stridiron honors the interconnected journey of the foodways and culture of Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean, and the Southern United States. Our contemporary pan-African kitchen respects historical recipes and crafts cuisine from thoughtfully sourced seasonal ingredients that reveal the connections between Africa and the diaspora. It is a journey of discovery along the trails of our ancestors, telling the authentic stories of the foodways and how they have shaped eating habits and cuisine worldwide. We invite guests to join us on a flavorful journey of discovery and appreciation. LATHA, in downtown Phoenix, in Heritage Square, is a place to have a shared immersive experience with friends or family while enjoying food, drinks, music, and culture in our dining room, bar, or outside patio. This place is absolutely amazing! Everything here is so good! Shout out to Will at the bar. He was so attentive and helpful. The drinks he recommended were some of the best drinks I’ve ever had. I will be coming back very soon! 🖤

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for a while now, and we finally got a chance to for our anniversary, and it was amazing. The food and drinks were top notch, I loved the ambiance and the music, and the service was excellent. I especially loved the whipped goat cheese with the chapati, which I would highly recommend as well as the puri piri wings, and the Dominican sour drink was my favorite. This was a wonderful date night out and we will definitely be back!!

One of the best dining experiences that I've had in Phoenix, you won't be dissapointed with the amazing staff, atmosphere and food. Went on Friday with my wife for the live jazz experience and had a fantastic time. Jerk Pork Chop, Watermelon Salad and the Pound Cake were the All Stars of the meal. Their pound cake might be the best desert I've had in Phoenix this year. 5 star experience!

The place was lovely, drinks were great and the vibe/music was so much fun! But they were out of the two entrees we ordered, served the food cold with the wrong vegetable requested and accidentally charged us for the original entrees they were out of in addition to the food served to us. Skip the food, but if you have time to grab a drink and enjoy the music, this is a fabulous spot!

Latha and it was a great new experience with a really novel approach to food and drink. We had a Martini and a Negroni, that were a departure from standard (as described) and were really delicious Service was very friendly and professional; we were greeted by the owner and converse at length with the bartender on the merits of the Negroni. The ambience was nice, in an old home in Heritage Square (across from Bianco) and there was a violinist playing non-intrusive music that was a nice complement to the environment. Their approach to food is really original, with its pan-African approach. Our Watermelon salad was really well done as was the salmon served with a delicious sauce and rice grits and the oxtails were mouth-watering and served over really creative Mac & cheese. Dessert was original and delish. A nice discovery for us, so the next time a Phoenician is up for a new dining adventure, give them a try; they won't disappoint..

Excellent restaurant. Pan-African motif. Great ambience, very attentive friendly staff and outstanding food. Very creative approach incorporating flavors from Africa, South America and the Caribbean. A smoke flavor infusion from an industrial size smoker adds subtle notes to many dishes. The ever present owner is a gracious friendly person who makes this an inviting experience. Highly recommend. We’re definitely coming again.
