Last Best Brewing & Distilling opened its doors in May 2015. The name Last Best draws from Calgary’s eclectic history. At the end of the 1800s, the Canadian government launched a campaign called ‘The Last Best West’; it’s purpose was to populate the western prairies and grow agriculture in Canada.

The administration believed that this area was the Last Best chance in the modern world for homesteaders to lay roots and shape their futures. The accomplishments resulting from the Last Best initiative have paved the way for the budding craft beer and distilling industries here in Alberta.

Last Best Brewing & Distilling honours this historical spirit through its name and unwavering commitment to making delicious well-crafted beer, spirits and Alberta-inspired cuisine.

    Food was amazing, service was terrible. Our server was not attentive at all, even after I explain that we had a concert to go to. Sat there for a long time before anyone took our drink order or even acknowledge us. Then It took forever to get the server back to take our order and then for our food to come out. We ended up being late for a concert.

    Pizza was excellent with a nice salty crust they accommodate gluten free options for food but the they do not have gluten free beer. Excellent gin cocktails!

    We watched game 6 at Last Best. It was a great atmosphere, attentive service, delicious gin. You HAVE to try the cornbread; it was to die for. Pizza was amazing and the pickles were great also.

    This is my first time, and was very impressed with the food. We tried the halloumi fries, which were delicious. Then we shared the stinky cheese pizza and the beef dip. The beef dip was outstanding as was the pizza.

    Best meal we had this week in Canada! Highly recommend the Stinky Cheese Pizza, poutine and the daily dessert special. Very talented chef! Will definitely be back!
