The La Scala at Newtown Square is a lovely restaurant and it was a lovely day. We sat outside. We ordered the paninis and we all ordered salads and apps with a pizza too. We were there for a birthday. After waiting quite a while for the food, a few people got their food. We waited another 20 minutes for the remaining food to arrive. The two Paninis were soggy and totally cold. They were terrible. We had to send both of them back. Then another family member who has shrimp allergies asked if anything fried were fried in the same frier as any shell fish. The first server said no that no shellfish were fried in the same frier as the stuffed peppers and the cheese steak egg rolls. Then we decided to ask another server who said YES there is shellfish in the fryer for all of the foods and to NOT eat the fried apps. Thank goodness my sister had not eaten anything yet. Finally, the Birthday girl never got her food. So after another 15 minutes we asked where the birthday girl's salad was. This is not 1 hour from ordering and everyone else has finished their food. They quickly hurled and got her her lunch salad. So not a good day for the La Scala in Newtown Square. Some of the food was fine. But two dishes really awful and literally cold and soggy and then a total miss on the birthday girl's food which is why we were there to celebrate in the first place. We were a group of 9 people. So lovely place with not so good food and ok service during a Sunday lunchtime where the place was maybe 1/3 full at best. So it is NOT due to being slammed by too many customers. Sorry we went there for our family birthday celebration.

The manager, Vince, went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. I am immunocompromised and he assisted me in finding a table that made me comfortable. I’m not able to get out much so I can’t thank him enough for helping us! The food was all delicious and the service was amazing!! I highly recommend!!! And it is much better than the LaScala’s in Villanova!

Menu was very impressive with creative choices..especially salads and Panini sandwiches Only negative was eating in outside area because of noise level Servers were quick and attentive in spite of our large group

It was very quiet as it was a Sunday and the restaurant was pretty empty, service was great and servers were very friendly and attentive. Food is always very good and big portions. Our server Hannah was outstanding and surely provided great service. All around excellent.

Loved the ricotta starter. We had the lemon linguine, the chicken parm and the rigatoni with beans and spinach. All very good. Chocolate cake was delicious. The sundae was huge and the tartufo was just okay just too sweet. Server was delightful and attentive. The check was almost 70 dollars each which seemed unexpectedly high. And its still noisy sitting inside.

My first time dining at LaScala’s Fire. Excellent menu. Delicious Burrata platter appetizer, beet salad and chicken Marsala capped off with exceptional profiteroles. Server Andrew very informative, interesting and attentive. All in all a wonderful dining experience. Can’t wait to go back.

The grandmom’s pie, ceaser salad and eggplant app were all very good. Service was great. I will definitely be back.
