What a fabulous place for a celebration! The menu has a wide variety of options. The food is great and the service is very attentive.

The Best Prepared Meat of Our 23 Year Fine Dining Experience Sep 2024 Porter Street is one way and I think we were lucky to find parking fairly close in this decent South Philly neighborhood. Having a reservation we were seated right away and greeted by many friendly faces on our way through the kitchen and dining rooms. Pellegrino served and orders promptly taken, the host was personable, knowledgeable and very clear on appetizer and dinner specials and preparation. The grilled pulpo and mozzarella with roasted pepper appetizers were delicious and let me know this dinner was going to be something special. Knowing L'Angolo is recommended for fresh pasta we had to change direction for the veal chop special. Veal chop: 2", bone in, perfectly medium rare, mushroom gravy, served over zucchini and potatoes. Being beef and barbecue people we agreed this was the best prepared meat of our 23 year fine dining experience. Chocolate mousse cake was a sweet, smooth and satisfying end to a perfect meal.

The food was exceptional. The homemade pappardelle pasta and the seafood special were delectable. Can’t wait to return! We had the best waiter too!

L'Angolo is one of those hidden gems that you find every now and then. When you first enter the restaurant its dark and the chefs are in the front preparing delicious creations. When you walk into the main dining room its just magical!! The rooms are small and decorated with a flair that makes you feel like you're in Italy. The food is amazing! And the wait staff is so efficient and very pleasant. My husband is looking for reasons to go back to Philadelphia so we can eat at L'Angolo again soon.

Everything was great except they said they didn’t have my reservation so with that said they never sang happy birthday to Scott. Singing to many others but not our friend. So that was disappointing.
