We had read about landmark prime rib and decided to make a visit. The restaurant is located inside the charming Warwick Melrose Hotel in Oak Lawn. We were greeted by a gentleman at the door with a smile. He was engaging and welcoming. I presumed he was the manager. He escorted us to our table and pulled out our chairs for us. He laid our napkins in our laps, nice touch! A few moments later our server appeared and welcomed us to the restaurant. She was knowledgeable of the menu, as well as the wine list. Cam was a delight. We both ordered the prime rib medium rare and it was wonderful, I loved the pairing of mild horseradish with it. The truffle mac and cheese was a hit with both of us. The ambience of this restaurant hints of something you might find a New Orleans, or tucked away somewhere in Manhattan. The man who greeted us came by and inquired about our evening. We learned he is the Maitre D' He gave us information on the hotel as well as the actual building being 100 years old this year, built in 1924. We ordered dessert strawberry cheesecake and white chocolate croissant bread pudding. My cheesecake was amazing, not too sweet. My husband's bread pudding was delicious. Our dinner actually turned into a wonderful event. We will definitely return.

I came in with the intention to celebrate my fiance for his birthday with close friends and family and based on reviews, I thought this would be the perfect place to do so. When we got there, the place was pretty bare and empty. The waitress seemed snippy and short with us and I'm not sure why because we were the only other table. We ordered drinks, appetizers, and an array of foods plus dessert and all of us knew how much it would cost us so my only other thought was that she just treated us like we didn't have money or not tip accordingly. Prime rib was good, Mac and Cheese was undercooked and the steak was salty. My experience in California with another prime rib restaurant was 100 times better and I am a Texas native. -Don't judge a book by its cover.

The prime rib was decent, but smothered in au jus. The mashed potatoes were a bit lumpy. The Perrier-Jouët champagne was served warm! This is totally unacceptable. The Perrier-Jouët was on the menu for $115, but when I arrived home to look at my bill, they had charged me $148! Probably will not be returning.

We celebrated my dad's 70th birthday here. Started off with a signed birthday card for him by the staff, followed by a round of awesome martinis, then thanks to our awesome server Connie's recommendation we had two of the appetizer special, beef carpaccio, which may have been one of the best things any of us have ever eaten. The tomato bisque has a twist compared to normal tomato bisque but was incredible. The prime rib was of course on point and the creme brulee and birthday cheese cake were delicious! We will definitely be back!

We were excited to try the Landmark. Unfortunately, the prime rib (their specialty) was not very good. Difficult to even cut with a steak knife and hard to chew. The petite caprese salad was good and the mushroom side was also good but the main course was a disappointment. Our waiter (Dustin) did a good job on service and made the dining experience better. Will not go back to the Landmark.

The combination of an apparent problem with the checkout system, the interference of a loud party with loud children (that should have had a private room) and an eager but relatively inexperienced waiter left us with a less than enjoyable experience. Additionally, each of the prime ribs we were served were tougher and had a run of gristle that i have not experienced before in this cut; unfortunate, since the conversion to a orime serving restaurant was our original attraction. This may have been a unique situation, but it has put us off this establishment for the future.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at The Landmark Prime Rib. Our Server, Gene, was terrific. The food was wonderful. The Manager, James Alexander, came over and said hello. The food was excellent. They even brought us a complimentary dessert with a banner of chocolate reading: ‘Happy Anniversary.’ This neighborhood gem is possibly overlooked by some because it is in the Melrose Hotel. To our delight, they even validated our valet parking. If downtown Dallas is convenient for you, we highly recommend dining at The Landmark Prime Rib Restaurant!
