We wanted a nice dinner before going to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Lawry’s Prime Rib closed down so we decided to try The Landmark Prime Rib at the Warwick Melrose Hotel. They didn’t disappoint. We started in The Library (hotel bar) for cocktails before going to The Landmark for dinner. Beef tenderloin crostini as an appetizer. For the main course I had the Prime Rib, wife and daughter each had the special of the day, pasta with lobster that included a glass of wine. We finished the meal with crème brûlée and glasses of Port. Beautiful historic hotel with a beautiful dining room. Attentive staff, great service and great food. We will definitely return.

A little disappointing. I eat at the Melrose occasionally and for special occasions. However, this particular day, they were short handed. I also missed Sarah who worked at the front desk for so long.

Great service by Dustin. Excellent food, as always. We celebrated a birthday and they made it very special. The Prime Rib was delicious. If anyone remembers Lawry’s Prime Rib (long gone), this Prime Rib is even better!

We hoped this would be a good experience despite the negative reviews from some earlier guests. Unfortunately, that was not the case. My wife and I took our son and his wife for an anniversary dinner. The ambiance is charming. The wait staff could not have been more helpful and understanding. The music in the background was perfect. The rolling cart could not move between tables, so the food might as well have been fixed in the kitchen. The effect was lost. The food: my wife and I ordered the least expensive cut of roast beef, expecting it to be cut thin. We should have asked. It came as a medium cut, which was thicker than we wanted. It was chewy, and the potatoes were cold. The salad came as a required side with three dressings available. It had little lettuce. Our son and his wife ordered fillet mignon. Our son thought it was too chewy, so the waiter offered to substitute a cut of roast beef from the cart. It, too, was unetable.

WE came to the Landmark to try the roast beef which three of us ordered. I could barely cut my serving of beef. My husband had the same experience.. Our guests did not comment on their servings.

Our waiter was amazing. We never wanted for anything. It was definitely a wonderful dining experience. We will definitely return.

We had read about landmark prime rib and decided to make a visit. The restaurant is located inside the charming Warwick Melrose Hotel in Oak Lawn. We were greeted by a gentleman at the door with a smile. He was engaging and welcoming. I presumed he was the manager. He escorted us to our table and pulled out our chairs for us. He laid our napkins in our laps, nice touch! A few moments later our server appeared and welcomed us to the restaurant. She was knowledgeable of the menu, as well as the wine list. Cam was a delight. We both ordered the prime rib medium rare and it was wonderful, I loved the pairing of mild horseradish with it. The truffle mac and cheese was a hit with both of us. The ambience of this restaurant hints of something you might find a New Orleans, or tucked away somewhere in Manhattan. The man who greeted us came by and inquired about our evening. We learned he is the Maitre D' He gave us information on the hotel as well as the actual building being 100 years old this year, built in 1924. We ordered dessert strawberry cheesecake and white chocolate croissant bread pudding. My cheesecake was amazing, not too sweet. My husband's bread pudding was delicious. Our dinner actually turned into a wonderful event. We will definitely return.
