Lamp & Shade Craft Kitchen and Cocktails is Mills area’s newest dining and nightlife concept. Playfully yet eloquently named, Lamp & Shade Craft Kitchen and Cocktails got its inspiration from the idea to ‘hangout and throw some shade in conversation’ while paying homage to the history of its building, previously The Lamp Shade Fair, well-known by locals for over 50 years.

The Asian-influenced tapas style menu showcases seasonal and local provisions of the Orlando community in innovative dishes that Executive Chef for Thriving Hospitality, Ryan Stewart, has meticulously developed.

Lamp & Shade's comprehensive beverage program features riffs on tiki classics tying back to the influential Asian roots of cocktails, pairing nicely with Chef’s selection of Asian inspired faire.

Place was awesome. Service was amazing, food is perfect. However, it is impossible to have a conversation. The place was so loud you can never t talk or hear. Our ears hurt when we left.

We came in for brunch to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Our waiter was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Cocktails were OUTSTANDING! The duck dumplings were so delicious and the French toast was amazing as well. We are excited to try their dinner menu next. The parking lot is small. We were able to get a spot because we had reservations close to opening. But I’m not sure if that lot is used for valet during dinner. Be prepared to find street parking.

A cute place with a quirky menu. Fun to try during happy hour but the dinner menu was pricy and left our group wondering what we’d even want to order. The drinks were fine but light pours. Our favorite happy hour appetizer was the hummus but it didn’t come with nearly enough crackers for the portion size. Overall, the service was good and we enjoyed the ambiance but doubt we’ll be back. There wasn’t enough to make the drinks stand out and the quirky and expensive dinner menu wasn’t enticing. The vibe was great but the menu and pricing doesn’t seem right for the area.

Great new restaurant. The ambiance and decor is top notch. The food is unique, interesting and delicious. They can work on the drink menu a little but otherwise get 5 Stars.

Lamp & Shade had a cool vibe. The space was gorgeous. Every employee we interacted with was friendly and helpful. The drinks were OK. Not at all boozy, which was odd. When you're drinking a dirty martini and you can't taste the alcohol, that's always suspicious. We ordered the chili bomb hummus and the umami popcorn. Both were off. They just didn't quite taste right. The hummus was way too sweet and the popcorn was way too bland. Other things on the menu looked interesting, but based on the two dishes we tried, it wasn't worth it to try a $14 small plate that would most likely be disappointing. It's a fun location, but 5 drinks and 2 small plates for $80 wasn't worth it

The server was not very friendly. We felt as if we were bothering the server, and she was not very attentive even though the restaurant was pretty empty at the time.

Fantastic evening at Lamp & Shade! I can't say enough good things about the quality, taste, and presentation of the food. The craft cocktails we had were also outstanding. Decor and ambiance are super fun. It was a bit loud due to the concrete floor and high ceiling but there was great energy and L&S is certainly a cool place for a celebration or party.
