Le Lamberts Downtown Barbecue, situé dans le 2nd Street District du centre-ville d'Austin, au Texas propose des classiques texans modernes dans un bâtiment historique rénové de manière tendance. Il met l'accent sur des ingrédients frais locaux, de la viande et des produits naturels et des fruits de mer. Ce restaurant a créé le « Fancy Barbecue ». Le Schneider Store magnifiquement rénové situé à l'angle de Guadalupe et 2nd Street comprend une cuisine ouverte et une salle à manger au 1er étage. Il bénéficie en outre d'une terrasse. Le bar-salon à l'étage propose des concerts en soirée la plupart du temps et peut accueillir de grandes fêtes pour des événements privés. Depuis son ouverture en 2006, le Lamberts est apparu dans le Food & Wine, The New York Times, le Conde Naste Traveler et a été classé 4ème meilleur nouveau restaurant au Texas par le Texas Monthly.

My sister and brother in law were visiting from out of town and wanted some good BBQ with a cool vibe so of course we chose Lambert’s. They LOVED the experience and the vibe of the restaurant! The server was so friendly, attentive and indulged in our dry sense of humor. She made some amazing recommendations and made us feel so special. The food was spectacular especially the queso with burnt ends, the ceviche and the ribeye. Everything was so wonderful and they can’t wait to come back and visit.

Very noisy and lots of shouting, don’t go for a romantic night out with your partner as you might not hear them

Lambert’s is great! The corn muffins and butter are wonderful! The queso has the perfect amount of guac and brisket. Make sure to try the tortillas. We loved the brisket and mac and cheese. The buttermilk bread is great too. We will be back!

*Update, 9/5/24* Management from Lambert’s reached out directly acknowledging my review, let me know that my experience is not what they strive for, & that they were going to refund my meal. Not necessary or expected, but much appreciated - bumped up the ratings (overall and service) a bit accordingly. Nice to see that someone’s actually reading these reviews, cares enough to contact customers about a subpar experience - this is rare these days. *** Did not walk away impressed. Food was just okay, but service was awful. Overpriced for the final product. Initial impressions were positive as we were guided to our booth - the building is old, and the space has a cool, rustic vibe… but it was downhill from there. Party’s water cups were filled, but then we waited 10-15 minutes before our waitress stopped by for the first time and introduced herself. Put in a round of drinks, but then radio silence for nearly half an hour. Finally got our drinks (they were fine), put in the food order at the same time. Appetizers arrived (we had the queso, ceviche, and prawns), I’d say they were just okay. Another 20-30 minutes before main course, which was alright, but not nearly enough to outweigh the generally poor experience/service. I think the restaurant was woefully understaffed for the night. There was a private party upstairs, and it seemed like our waitress was having to manage the entire first floor. I don’t blame her, but rather, management. Seems like this is one of those “mid range” spots that’s a victim of the post-Covid world. Probably had to raise prices fairly substantially, service is a bit lean - and the product hasn’t kept up. At the end of the day, this is a basic barbecue joint in a dressed up space. You’re far better off seeking out one of the many superior options in Austin and the surrounding area.

This is a must try in Austin! The food was amazing, the ambiance and service was spot on and the quality of food was very high. This was my first time here and definitely not my last!
