The Louisiana French Creole use the term “lagniappe” to describe something that’s “a little something extra,” and that's exactly what chef owner Brian Grimley knows it takes to transform a dish from mere food into an experience you never forget. Inspired by the culture and flavors of New Orleans, Charleston and Savannah, Chef Grimley's Lagniappe- Amelia Island combines the traditions of the French Creole with unique twists on Southern culinary staples using only the freshest local ingredients. And should you wish to elevate your experience by imbibing one of the many cocktails on the menu, you'll choose from a range of both classic and new wave cocktails inspired by the eclectic spirit of the South.

The food was excellent. We started off with the pull pork appetizer. For entrees, we had the blackened salmon and blue crusted catfish. The ambience was extremely nice. Can’t wait to go back.

Everything about the evening was wonderful. Our sever knew the menu & food well. She was great. Our cocktails, smoked manhattan and sazrac, were really good. We had the pulled pork egg rolls & fried green tomatoes appetizers. The fried green tomatoes were incredible - not something I would have ever expected to like. My husband had the trout and I had the burrata, heirloom tomato, pesto bruschetta. Everything was delicious. We will definitely go there again…and bring company. Thank you.

The food is very good, and the server was attentive, however we had a reservation for 6 at 6pm. At 7:10 pm we were winding down our conversation after paying the bill, and were rudely told that our table was being used at 7:15 and that we had to leave! We were only allowed to use the table for 1 hr and 15 minutes. - what if we had decided to have dessert or after dinner drinks? It was very insulting, we had just spent $300 for dinner and were rushed away from our table. It is the last time we will eat here.

Talk about a horrific experience. I brought my wife to this place thinking it would be an elegant and classy dining experience. Let me tell you this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had in Amelia Island. My wife found a disgusting hairs in her meal. When I alerted the waitress of the situation, she took the plate and ran in the back of the restaurant and came back with another plate of food??? no I’m sorry we ruined your meal. There was no apology. There was no would you like something different to eat? what was even more appalling was the manager didn’t even have the decency to come over to the table and check to see what was wrong or what he could do to make it right. Completely unprofessional. My wife obviously did not want anything else to eat after this experience and we asked for the check. Upon receiving the check, they were charging us for the food that had the hair in it!!!! Can you imagine any restaurant, charging for food where a patron had found her in their food from someone on their staff preparing the food??? Absolutely horrendous management at this place. We paid the bill and left as we were both visibly disturbed at how they conduct business at this clown show of a restaurant. Upon arriving home about 45 minutes later, I get text messages from the clown manager of Lagniappe, stating that no one in his staff, could’ve gotten her into the food and denying all accountability for the food whatsoever that his staff provided my wife and I. Who goes out of their way to go and text a patron after they completely screwed up their meal on a birthday dinner and then to text someone and harass them after having a horrendous experience at the restaurant? in his texting to me, he denied any accountability for the horrendous meal that he served with disgusting hair in it. I let him know his behavior was appalling and he was completely unprofessional and how he managed at restaurant. Do not go to this restaurant.!

Best food on the island. My son took his grandmother to dinner - and service was perfect (even including making sure he received the bill). The Smoky Old Fashioned won’t ever go out of style. And the steak frites is delicious. Their fried green tomato app is a must! Melanie’s pimento cheese recipe is perfect. Enjoy your night!
