La Viola - West offers an authentic Italian dining experience. An excellent place for date night, it has decor that includes wood furnishings, crisp linens, and soft, romantic lighting. The menu at La Viola - West includes a variety of pasta along with grilled and roasted meats such as veal, chicken, and fresh fish.

An array of desserts, hot coffees, and sodas are available to order with your meal at La Viola - West. However, no alcohol is served, although you are welcome to bring your own bottle with you. Offering catering services and designated event space, the restaurant hosts special parties and celebrations upon request.

Food was very tasty and well prepared. Everything is a La carte so it’s pricey in the end, if you order more than an entree. It’s a BYOB so that’s nice. Service was pretty good although a young bus boy who obviously didn’t speak English suddenly whisked away our bill with our CC just as I was going to open it up and sign it. Weird- he wasn’t a server so don’t know why he did that. I chased after him and got it back. Otherwise we enjoyed our meal.

Wonderful, cozy BYO spot, close to the Kimmel Center with friendly, caring service. The food has been consistently good for years. Grilled calamari is tender with a hint of charcoal or oil that and shrimp are always cooked perfectly. Pastas are delicious and flavorful. Can be noisy with tables close together, but everyone is friendly and enjoys the food.

Had a date with my wife and we LOVED our meals. We started with (2) gluten free appetizers (I have celiac disease), we had the grilled calamari and shrimp and then the homeade buffalo mozzarella served tiwht roates peppers. For our meal, my wife had the Vitello Rollatini (veal medallions stuffed with spinach, ham and cheese> I enjoyed the veal medallions with spinach, cheese and marinara sauce. We have already made our reservations in January when we are seeing a play. Wonderful service and friendly staff

We have eaten here many times and it has always been excellent...the veal is outstanding and the services matches. Once in a while we try another Italian restaurant but always come back here! Great job.

As always, LaViola never disappoints! From the Winter menu, I had the octopus & calamari salad to start - awesome!! My bestie and I both had the Squid Ink Linguini - magnificent!!! We were both too full for dessert. If you are looking for a really good Italian meal, run don't walk to LaViola West the next time you are in Center City Philadelphia. BTW, the prices are very reasonable as well and the service impeccable!

Amazing food! Perfect for late nights after a performing arts show. We made reservations for another restaurant that canceled our reservation during our orchestra show. We booked this last minute and I’m glad it all happened. We sat in the window by the Christmas lights. Service was excellent and the food was true authentic Italian. Great variety on menu with regular and a seasonal menu! It was a little loud because of a group of college kids, but once they left it was perfect. Staff was fun too! One of my favorite memories from the trip!

We had made a reservation weeks in advance as it was for a birthday gathering. When our party sat down, they were rushing us to order as they had notified us that a private party would be happening later that night and our reservation needed to be completed within one hour and 15 minutes. For a large party celebrating an event, this is something they could have notified us about prior to our arrival or seated us somewhere else. The service was rushed as they stressed the time we needed to be out of the table by.

One of our favorites in Philadelphia- food is excellent and reasonably priced. The ambiance is charming, although the tables are somewhat close together, not a problem unless the restaurant is full. The service was okay, but missing a few touches that could have made it better. Deliver the check right after the coffee appears? An ungracious touch to an otherwise fine dinner.
