A Modern Approach to Multi·Course Dining.

La Vie is a contemporary restaurant that’s inspired by our local ingredients and collaborations with the community. We strive to give the diner a sense of place and appreciation of Hawaii, through the tradition of French cuisine.

Views of the Pacific Ocean set the scene for our open-air restaurant sitting high on the eighth floor of The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach.

Everything was beautiful: weather, view, piano music and food service. Food was interesting and delicious. The only area they could improve would be the dessert selection. The kulolo crunch and the basque cheesecake were both bland. Enjoyed the coconut ice cream and fruit. The desserts at Dean & Deluca are way better. Other than that, it was a lovely experience.

Our food was good Our server started out great. Had a 3 course price fixe menu. First course came and a few moments later our server checked on us. The the main and dessert came and we didn’t see our server till we were done with dessert. The main course plates had barely left the table when dessert was served. On the mirror behind our head it looked like someone had dripped something on it. There were also dark spots on or in the mirror.

I recently dined at La Vie and I have to say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The moment you step in, you’re greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is modern yet cozy. Whether you're there for a romantic dinner or a casual meal with friends, the ambiance makes everyone feel comfortable. Our server Nik was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and had excellent timing. Every request was met with a smile, and he even provided thoughtful recommendations, which turned out to be spot-on. I will be requesting Nik when I return! We ordered the oysters which were delicious and our entrees were chicken and champagne which was matched beautifully. The flavors were balanced, with every ingredient contributing to a cohesive and delicious dish. The portions were generous, and the menu offered a variety of options to suit different tastes. While the prices are slightly on the higher side, the quality of food, service, and overall experience more than justifies the cost. You truly get what you pay for here which is an exceptional dining experience. La Vie is a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable meal. With its delightful ambiance, flawless service, and mouthwatering dishes, it easily earns a 5-star rating. I will definitely be returning!

Food and drinks were excellent. The service could've been a lot better. Timing on food and drinks was not good.

An incredible experience from start to finish! The food was absolutely delicious—each dish was bursting with flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. The ambiance was perfect, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. They were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations. The overall experience was top-notch, and I can’t wait to return. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food and a welcoming vibe! Five stars!

We live a half-block away from the Ritz-Carlton, so we dine at La Vie several times a year. Service this time was uneven. The bread basket arrived a little before our first course, and the Champagne and bottle of wine came after our first course was served. So, for much of our early meal, we were just sipping water! The food was presented nicely and prepared well. The restaurant was offering a kamaaina special where they discounted 25% of food and bottles of wine -- which was a nice way of showing their appreciation to residents.
