La vela is always a great dining experience! My husband and I go once a week for date night, and we really enjoy trying out the specials in addition to our regular favorites. When we have guests visiting from out of town, this is our go-to. On this occasion we dined outdoors (the fans made a good dent in the heat) and shared the Summer Bites (YUM), calamari and friends, and the spinach salad. I tried the crab ravioli in Vodka sauce (SO GOOD), hubs and friend had the chicken milanese (Very Light and delicious on a summer evening!) And my MIL had the fettuccine bolognese, one of our all-time favorites. It was too hot for dessert, but hopefully next time! Once the heat breaks! Service was excellent, as always.

Went for our 25th anniversary- it did NOT disappoint! We love the food, the ambiance, and the service. Favorite place in Solomon’s!

The waitstaff was very friendly, the drinks were strong, the food was good, but the weather was a bit punishing on the outside seating area. Wished the fans were a little stronger for a little more airflow. Still had a great time and would go again!

We booked a table for two for a birthday meal, requesting indoor seating. On arrival we were shown to the deck. As indoors seemed as warm if not warmer than outside we accepted that. There was a breeze. However, there was a loud large party at the end of the deck, and we could hardly hear one another without raising our voices. Before our food arrived I asked to be moved indoors but was told there wasn't any available seating except at the bar.. There was a vacant table for two but I was told that was reserved for someone who was coming soon. The atmosphere was more like that of a bar, and had we been looking for that we would have gone to somewhere like The Pier which I have never known to be that noisy. We chose to leave after the main course and not stay for dessert and coffee. At no time was any reference made to our booking being for a birthday or anything done to recognize the event. We have eaten there before, but this visit was very disappointing and I was embarrassed having taken my wife there on her special day.

Complementary to the chef on Father’s Day, the ribeye was cooked to perfection. Experience was very, very good.

I have lived in Sicily and visited mainland italy. The food here reminded me of these places. It is very authentic. Everyone was super nice and professional. Will definitely be going back.
