Since 1987, La Tomate has been Dupont Circle's neighborhood bistro, featuring affordable regional Italian cuisine in a warm ambiance.

A window-clad bar and dining room offer charming avenue views onto Connecticut avenue. Enjoy an extended season of “al fresco” dining on our lush outdoor patio.

companion 1 and I shared a salad and we both had ragu. companion 2 had the spaghetti and lobster. All the entrees were excellent. The best part was that we were not rushed. We were having a great time talking and I think we were there for over 3 hours. The service was attentive but not pushy. We will be back!

A lovely outdoor seating area and our terrific waiter made the evening special. The sauces on the pasta dishes were a bit heavy and oily, but otherwise an enjoyable experience.

The owner seated us outside in their triangular-shaped patio on a warm summer night. The wine was crisp, the food was artistic, the service was impeccable, the atmosphere was glorious! We purchased a bottle of wine so that with each sip we will remember that meal. Viva La Tomate!

It was a charming experience from the pretty bread plate and crepe paper flower on the table upon arrival to the beautifully plated and garnished pesto pasta special I ordered. The host and waiters were excellent.
