    Our favorite Italian restaurant in the Menlo/Palo Alto Area. Unassuming and simple. Highly recommended.

    My husband had the short ribs and they were excellent. Mezzaluna pasta dish is my favorite and I always am hungry for it. La Stanza is our favorite restaurant and that is why I requested going there for Valentines Day. The red balloons were festive!💕

    We love the food so fresh and tasty. We had the little 4 person private room which was lovely and intimate. Of course, we will be back again.

    La Stanza has terrific food & a great waitstaff. However it is very closely packed and quite noisy. They do a tremendous amount of take out, so the staff is running all over with to-go containers and since it's so small, it's a little crazy. All in all we enjoyed ourselves immensly. We will go back mid week and enjoy a more relaxed time. There's dish of stuffed pasta with pear and asiago cheese that is wonderful! They look a bit like goldfish especially with the yummy orange colored sauce on it. I will get it again for sure.

    We sat in the tiny room, which was very pleasant until a large group arrived and sat in the adjoining room. Perhaps a door needs to be installed to close off the two rooms when it gets too noisy.

    My wife and I made a reservation for 6:45 on a cold rainy Saturday night. This was our first time there. Our table was not ready when we arrived so we stood near the door with servers and busboys hustling back and forth. We were seated shortly after 6:45 but at a four-top table between the reception desk and a high counter. This place appears to be very popular with regular clientele and also with Doordash and takeout. It’s a classic energy charged, noisy bistro. The hostess and bartender came by a couple of times each to ask if we were ok, and we said we were (not wanting to be difficult), but in future would request a different table. The prices are very reasonable, the wine selection by the glass is unusually broad, and the food was delicious and served hot. My prawns and vegetables were excellent. I had a nice apple galette for dessert. My wife was delighted to be able to have gluten free pasta. I think we will go back, probably with another couple, but choose a time when we can get a table against one of the back walls so we don’t have continuous foot traffic going past us.
