Located on the 5th floor of the Austin Proper Hotel, La Piscina Ceviches & Fajitas is a convivial poolside restaurant and bar serving Texas-inspired Mexican cuisine. The vibrant, open space overlooks the downtown Austin bustle as groups convene over family-style platters, ceviches and table-top sizzling fajitas, with fresh seafood grilled over a wood fire and house-made tortillas from an open comal. The bar provides an accompanying selection of frozen margaritas, native Mexican spirits, small-batch tequila and mezcal as well as an assortment of outdoor-friendly snacks.

Delicious! Sat out on the patio where the vibe was awesome. The Margarita and Snapper tacos and Shrimp fajitas were outstanding, as were all the accompanying sauces and accouterments. Brandie was friendly and knowledgeable, and service was prompt. It was a little tricky to find, as it’s not on the street, but located on the fifth floor of a gorgeous hotel. If you’re on the fence, just go, as you won’t be disappointed!

PROS: Great fajitas! The good guacamole appetizer was about 2/3 picked bougie veggies on top of the guacamole. CONS: Extremely NOISY!!! Literally could not hear our server. Parking was over $33 for a 45 minute dinner. I get that it’s a downtown hotel with limited parking, but that’s tacky and should be free for under an hour to spend $150 for fajitas, guac a couple of $6. iced teas and a generous tip.

Always a great time! The fajitas are the best! And with their margaritas and the sunset view we had- fantastic night!

One of our favorite places for fajitas as well as their shrimp ceviche. We love this place on so many levels. Service has always been amazing!

Pleasantly surprised with how delicious the steak fajitas were! We went there for a light bite since we were staying at the Proper. Everyone around us was ordering fajitas so we said we had to too ;) We couldn’t help ourselves and ended up eating the whole thing because it was so tender and yummy. 😋

Our waitress, Sierra, was kind and attentive. She gave great suggestions when asked for advice about the menu! We loved the ribeye fajitas! We will definitely go back!

This is one of my favorite spots in ATX. The fish tacos are amazing, and the snapper al pastor!!!! Their chips and salsa are also amazing. They have great cocktails. The place is modern and beautiful it reminds me of the Yucatán. Next time we sit by the windows I’ll ask them to lower the shades, the sun was a bit strong. Wonderful service and great food!

The Brunch at La Piscina is very good. We love going there. The food is very high quality. The staff is friendly, efficient, and attentive. Although the menu has added a number of items for brunch, we chose the Brunch Fajita which we like very much. The Brunch Fajita includes eggs, usually sunny-side up but we prefer scrambled, beef or chicken, peppers & onions, breakfast potatoes and a roasted jalepeno pepper served on an iron skillet with corn or flour tortillas. It is enough food for both of us. The venue is pretty and airy.

This was the best Mexican restaurant of my life! We loved it so much that we cancelled our steakhouse reservations the next night to come back to La Piscina! We were only in Austin 2 nights and ate there twice! It was that good. Trust me!
