It was a chilly evening and every time someone entered the restaurant or left there was a cold blast of air. The staff took our drinks and food orders, our drinks arrived promptly but there was a long delay before we got our starters and an even longer delay before our main course arrived. On this occasion it was not a good experience. On previous visits it’s be a great restaurant to have a meal.

Great food at a great price. Everytime i go i have the pork on crushed potato with delicious shallot sauce. Lovely ambience . Helpful friendly staff

Staff really nice and pleasant, food excellent. Real shame that not many people in at the time we visited and meal took a while to come to us.

We had the set Lunch Menu. Very good value and lovely food. Nice surroundings and very pleasant staff.

As ever we received a very warm welcome. We had the lunch set menu which is really good value. The portion sizes are generous and the food well cooked and well presented. Several of us chose the deep fried Brie which is a recent addition to the menu. We were not disappointed.

Lovely traditional beamed building with a relaxed atmosphere, food was gorgeous especially the aubergine bake! Staff were lovely, friendly and attentive a definitely must if visiting York.
