Bringing to the helm Matthieu Landillon from the coastal city of Marseille, La Nouvelle allows us to explore classic French Bistro fare with an elevated edge. Everything about La Nouvelle’s surrounding is a true 10. We started with the beet terrine (fabulous) and the Caesar salad. Our mains included the Bouillabaisse and Brazino. Both very good except (sadly) for the broth of the fish stew. The flavor was excellent (more beef than tomato) however it was very, very salty stopping me from enjoying it with the excellent ($10) bread service. Dessert was profiteroles with chocolate sauce and French press decaf. Very good. Highly recommend this restaurant.,

We took our granddaughter and her husband and a friend. Four of us had the filet with peppercorn sauce. Delicious

Great food. French cuisine is so rare to find, and this chef excels. Fine service, good selection of entrees. I had the Steak au poivre and it was prepared to my preference.

The food, from appetizers to dessert, was excellent and our server Anna was charming and very attentive. The hostess came by twice to check on our satisfaction with everything and that is also very appreciated.

We went to La Nouvelle on Saturday to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The on site parking is always a plus for any restaurant in St. Augustine. The interior is beautiful and the ambiance makes you feel as if you are in a quaint French restaurant. They have an extensive French wine list and a very knowledgeable sommelier. The butternut squash soup was amazing and the duck confit my husband had was delicious and probably the only place in town you will find this dish. So now let me tell you why I only gave 4 stars…..our server acted as if she didn’t want to be there, I don’t think she ever even cracked a smile. I ordered the le royale with cheese, when looking at the menu online this immediately caught my eye because the burger was on a croissant and looked delicious. When the food was brought to the table, it took me a minute to realize my burger was not served to me on a croissant but on a brioche bun. When the server came back to check on us I asked if it was supposed to be served on a croissant, her answer, “yes I should have made you aware we were out of croissants, would you like something else?” I told her it was fine, but only because it had been over 5 minutes since serving us our dishes. I didn’t want to sit there and wait for another dish to be prepared while everyone else was eating. If I had been told the burger would not be served on a croissant I would have ordered something else. Luckily the delicious soup filled me up! I really wanted this to be a great dining experience but it fell short.

Situated in a quaint section of St. Augustine we found the experience very relaxing. The food was excellent and our waiter was very informative. Will go back.
