At La Marchande, Chef John Fraser revitalizes the French chophouse, spotlighting seasonal ingredients and a fresh approach to steakhouse dining. The café-inspired dining room and casual bar setting provide unique environments for both formal meals and relaxed drinks.

Chef John presents innovative dishes like "French Onion Dumplings" and seared "Bone Marrow," served in a freshly baked baguette. The menu features a variety of simply prepared proteins, including "Aged Long Island Duck" and "Broiled Prawns" with bouillabaisse maître d butter. Vegetarian options like "Hen of The Woods Steak" and "Cauliflower Tarte Tatin" showcase Chef John's creative flair.

Led by Beverage Director Amy Racine, La Marchande's French-focused wine list and selection of vermouths complement the steakhouse fare. The bar offers a chic setting for enjoying cocktails, shellfish towers, and bar bites.

Food was outstanding. Everything I had was on point and so delicious. Don’t miss the pull apart rolls, I could eat nothing but those and be so happy. Also loved the dumplings - the mushroom consommé was divine. Salmon was perfect, mushroom rigatoni amazing, sticky toffee…running out of adjectives. Only thing wonky was the service. Somehow we had four different servers. Everyone was nice, but uniformly confused. We had to flag them down several times just for basics like ordering (after waiting 40+ minutes) and paying.

We are local New Yorkers, living in manhattan. This was our first visit to your restaurant and it will NOT be our last! We loved it! We are booked in again in about 3 weeks! The only MINOR suggestion that we would offer - - solely on the basis of personal preference - - is that white tablecloths on the tables would add to the elegance of the dining room and dining experience. But, tablecloths or not, we are coming back!

Our waiter was great, the manager was very personable. Service and food were impeccable. All around great experience, and next I am New York City I will be back!
