In a word, underwhelming. Also, somehow overwhelming. Focusing on the experience, it’s too much. The regimented precision needed to plate the sensory feasts coming to table, spills unnaturally into front of house. If the table had been floating down a lazy river while Metallica blasted It’s a Small World as food was fired from the kitchen by a stadium air cannon that experience may have felt more natural than dining at La Mar. The onslaught of service just got in the way of everything important in dining. Chill out a bit. The seafood was fine, but not exceptional to the regional standard, with flavor profiles across dishes that were surprisingly monotone, disappointingly lifeless and shockingly bland. I would have expected more spice and pop. Nothing here has me looking forward to that ‘must have again’ return.

Good experience, great service! Cebiches and tiraditos were good, one of our main entree dishes "Arroz con pato" took a LOOOONG time to arrive and flavor was not the best. We were celebrating a birthday, they sent us a birthday cake, and we were charged for it. For a restaurant like La Mar, I'd expect the birthday cake to be complimentary.

Wonderful experience! The staff was very attentive and food was absolutely delicious. We tried the ceviche sampler and the fish was so fresh! Some of the best empanadas we have ever had. The chicken anticuchos criollos were delightful. Don’t miss the pica ones for dessert. Bonus alfajores with coffee. Literally everything was delicious .

I'm so happy with this Peruvian restaurant near me. It's everything I ever wanted. Amazing food, service, ambience.....excellent!

Awesome! It was simply an amazing experience. It was my birthday celebration and I have asked for a better restaurant to dine at. All the dishes were so delicious. We ordered Cebechis, yucca fries, potatoes and the main entrees which were the rice dishes. Sebastian was our server who told us what to order and explained the Peruvian dishes to us. He took care of my daughter’s allergies. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Place was amazing. As a Peruvian I can confirm the food is AUTHENTIC. Must try the ceviche, picarones, arroz con pato and empanadas de ají de gallina.

I was charged for a drink I did not ask and the waitress said she was going to take it out and she did not do it, I trust her and did not check the bill at the end and when I went home I realized she charged that drink in my bill, we even left her a good tip, not good at all and customer service at all.

Overall a decent experience. Nothing was bad but had quite a few odd or meh experiences that it added up. To list a few: - Most places include valet, this place not only didn’t but it was $15!! - Server did his job but was largely unenthusiastic - Cebiche was tasty but double the price I’d expect - They brought one of our dishes out and put it on the table next to us. Didn’t realize they had done that until ~1 minute later and after that table had started prodding it with their forks and took photos. Rather than at least pretending they took it back to the kitchen they just forklifted it to our table with an “oops”… not what I’d expect at a place like this.
