With a dazzling dining gallery featuring 40’ glass ceilings, this one-of-a-kind brasserie is built in the tradition of the Belle Epoque, inspired by elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style. The menu features French classics and timeless bistro favorites, with a focus on prime cuts and an in-house meat program. In addition to an extensive wine list and classic cocktails, La Grande Boucherie also features an inspired menu of absinthe-driven signature drinks.

    I really wanted to like this place, but my experience was bad here. Made reservations well in advance for two. Arrived on the dot, was asked to wait to the side for an additional 15 minutes until I had to remind someone that we were waiting. We watched other couples be seated while we stood there. We were then seated right next to an exit door with no barrier whatsoever to 53rd st on a 20 degree evening. People were not only exiting, but entering here too. I know we weren’t the only guests freezing. The service was fine, good cocktails, the food was average, at best. I just ordered a burger and my wife ordered steak frites. I’ve had much better food at much lower priced restaurants, even in NYC. Overall, one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had.

    Arrived on time at 4:30 for Rez and waited til 4:55 to be seated with no communication. Told to stand over there.. no waiter to our table for 10 minutes. Food was fine. Pretty ambience. Cold and hd to wear my coat. Cassoulet was supposed to be served duck crisp. It was not. Asked if we wanted cherries in old Fashioned and said yes but no cherries. Not going back.

    Because of the extreme cold weather, the dining room was quite cold. Our breakfast was very good but service was a bit slow with coffee and bringing butter for our croissants.

    Had to wait 40 minutes to check in then seated next to door, was freezing. Service was well below expected at restaurant in midtown. Will probably not return.

    Waaaaaay too cold inside, despite reserving and showing up on time, everyone had to wait 30 min outside in the cold. Food was just ok

    We had reservations for outside on 12-22, so they moved our party of seven to a room by ourselves. Our server was fantastic, and the food was superb!

    Despite having a reservation, we had to wait in line outside for 25 minutes to get to the host stand. Once there, we were interrupted by another patron asking to move tables because they were freezing at theirs. Guess where we were sat. Our table was next to an external wall so drafty it was barely there. We sat in our coats and hats and froze. The silverware on the table was ice cold. We ended up only having a drink and soup and then leaving. (The drinks and French onion soup were delicious.)

    We waited for our server for about 15 min and then ordered a drink and wanted to order an app but our server walked away…had to flag her down to get our app and bread. It all was rushed and highly impersonal. We were at a high top near the window and it was very cold. We had to keep our jackets on. Clearly we were not in a “prime” location. The food was delicious but not hot at all and was clearly prepped before we ordered as it came out within minutes after serving and was borderline cold. The service overall not great. Was not worth the price you pay. Maybe the holidays are overwhelming time and the staff couldn’t keep up… but likely not coming back.

    The restaurant was freezing and loud. The service was slow and not attentive. The food was way overpriced and not exceptional. Extremely disappointed.
