Located at 699 14th Street on the coveted corner of 14th and G Street NW, La Grande Boucherie is situated on the most high-profile street in Washington D.C., just one block away from the White House. The restaurant is built in elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style, evoking the sense of optimism from the turn of the 20th century. The brasserie’s menu features both classic and modern French dishes, with focus on the meat program, raw bar and extravagant large-format meats, ideal for sharing and celebrating. Mahogany wood and glass partitions divide the gargantuan space to create intimate dining experiences. These pieces are adorned in gilded accents and uniquely curved arches inspired by the 20th-century Art Nouveau movement of Paris. The main dining room highlights a massive curved bar with a metal top imported from Paris, a signature piece of Boucherie.

Was really hyped on the new environment and ambience per the photos and reviews I saw. And with the pedigree of this restaurant, really expected a lot more for a $425 price tag for 2. Steak had an incomplete sear (just the edges), we didn’t get served the bottle of wine we ordered until we had already started our main course and had to ask for the wine. Most definitely did not meet the value proposition and will likely be steering diners away because the experience was nowhere close to worth the money. Very disappointed due to the perceived expectation. 😢

I made reservations several weeks in advance, we were visiting family in the Washington DC area. The restaurant was beautiful but are table was in a terrible location, the far corner of the restaurant in front of the time clock where employees clock out. The entire meal we had employees walking back & fourth, it was distracting. The service was nothing great. We were given bread on the table but no bread plate, I had to ask for pepper for my salad. The food was not very good, my husband ordered a Ribeye medium rare & it came medium well, it was thin & dry. I would say for the money it’s not worth it, many better places in the area.

A wonderful trip to Paris. The restaurant is huge but the staff is very professional and everything was smooth and seamless. Highly recommend.

Extremely small table and uncomfortable chair. Impossible to enjoy the meal and a bottle of wine. The decor was amazing and thats about it. Food was average. Steak was ok.

Food was horrible. Specifically the lobster bisque, steak, and burgers. They have really good salad and drinks. That’s about it! Wouldn’t recommend.

Beautiful Christmas decor! Delish onion soup and burger. Husband enjoyed the lobster bisque and scallops. Drinks were amazing!

Food and ambiance was excellent! Our server wasn’t very attentive and was a bit curt when we could get her attention. Otherwise, everything we ordered was fantastic.

We tried a few different appetizers and ordered an entry that actually want available. The appetizers were good except for the Wagyu tartar, which was disappointingly flavorless. The duck special turned out to not be available. Overall, we really enjoyed the atmosphere but would rather eat at Le Diplomat or other nice French restaurants in DC.

Attended dinner for Christmas. Restaurant itself is very beautiful. If I lived in DC I would go here in a regular basis. It’s huge so they have a ton of tables. Unfortunately got seated next to a table with small kids who all played their video games and movies with their phones on and no earphones so it ruined the atmosphere and experience.
