Located at 699 14th Street on the coveted corner of 14th and G Street NW, La Grande Boucherie is situated on the most high-profile street in Washington D.C., just one block away from the White House. The restaurant is built in elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style, evoking the sense of optimism from the turn of the 20th century. The brasserie’s menu features both classic and modern French dishes, with focus on the meat program, raw bar and extravagant large-format meats, ideal for sharing and celebrating. Mahogany wood and glass partitions divide the gargantuan space to create intimate dining experiences. These pieces are adorned in gilded accents and uniquely curved arches inspired by the 20th-century Art Nouveau movement of Paris. The main dining room highlights a massive curved bar with a metal top imported from Paris, a signature piece of Boucherie.

              Loved our experience, they mastered food, service was amazing! Overall ambience spectacular. If you are looking for a place that can offer experience and good food “usually you have to compromise one” this is your place! Live music added a great touch to the experience as well. Will definitely be back!

              TOO LOUD!! Too crowded, especially on main level. Waited 90 minutes for drinks and to Order food. Will not return.

              It seems I keep striking out for my birthday as I am now 0/2. I really wanted to like this place, as it is across the street from the place where my brother and I usually go for happy hour and it looked like it would be a really good place for a birthday dinner so I made reservations for 7:30 on my birthday. My brother dropped me off at the front because I was wearing high heels as he went to park as this part of DC has very limited street parking options during this hour and this way, we would not be late for our reservation. I was unaware that I would not be seated until my full party arrived which meant that I was standing on the stairs as there is no seating for people waiting to be seated for almost 30 minutes because even after my brother walked in, we still had to wait. I watched people who arrived after me, people who had missed their reservations and showed up very late also get seated before me. It also meant that there were tons of people waiting in their foyer to be seated as they too waited for their party to arrive. It’s frustrating, because had I been seated, I would’ve been able to order drinks for my brother and I as well as some appetizers as we already knew what we were going to get before we got here. When we finally did get seated, we were sat in a back corner of the restaurant at a table that looked more appropriate for a couple than two siblings. So we asked if we could be moved to a table that would allow us to sit across from each other. The tables are so close together, and the place was so packed, which also means that the place is really loud. The option that host had for us outside of the initial table in the back corner was to sit us right next to the waiters ordering stand where we were very cramped even though they were more comfortable two person tables elsewhere. We decided to leave. I did not get to try the food and I will not be back here again.

              The food was amazing! The entertainment was really nice. They had live jazz on a Friday night. The building is beautiful. Wine was also half price and it was great wine! Will visit again and recommend.

              Walking up the main stairs opens the restaurant into an outstandingly ornate hall with tables, the bar facing you and a three story ceiling. Circling the main for on the third floor are more tables, where you will hope to eat. If you have challenges with stairs, taking the elevator up is an option. The night we went there was a jazz band playing, and my iwatch warned me first off about the noise levels. We sat on the top level, across from each other and could not hear one another even if we leaned in. It was so bad that we could not even hear the server. We knew what we wanted so pointing at the entrees worked. We had the escargot to start, wonderful, and then I had the coq au vin and my wife had the duck cassoulet, also both extremely delicious. Also, unlike other upscale restaurants, we received actual portions that filled us which was a huge bonus. Overall, food and service was great, my only issue is that my wife and I actually like talking to each other, which couldn’t be accomplished.

              Recently dined at La Grande Boucheire D.C for the first time & to no surprise the food & service was outstanding, especially judging off the beauty of the interior. From the hosts to even the support staff everyone was very friendly & the food was superb the Tomahawk came out perfect medium along with the delicious sides Mac’ n Cheese & Potato Puree but my favorite thing of the night was the bearnaise sauce that enhances the flavor for the steak 10/10.
