Located at 699 14th Street on the coveted corner of 14th and G Street NW, La Grande Boucherie is situated on the most high-profile street in Washington D.C., just one block away from the White House. The restaurant is built in elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style, evoking the sense of optimism from the turn of the 20th century. The brasserie’s menu features both classic and modern French dishes, with focus on the meat program, raw bar and extravagant large-format meats, ideal for sharing and celebrating. Mahogany wood and glass partitions divide the gargantuan space to create intimate dining experiences. These pieces are adorned in gilded accents and uniquely curved arches inspired by the 20th-century Art Nouveau movement of Paris. The main dining room highlights a massive curved bar with a metal top imported from Paris, a signature piece of Boucherie.

Horrible experience. 7pm Reservation and did not get seated until 7:50pm . Service was slow, I spoke to a manager , who was very nice and explained that they were short staff and not prepared for the restaurant week crowd. However, an hour for food. The food was bland and mediocre at best. The server or the kitchen mixed up the steak temperatures on 2 steaks and a burger , everything needed salt including the salad. Then the icing on the cake, there is 3% service charge added to every bill. A service charge when lacking service is just ridiculous. Definitely disappointing experience!

Our server Orlando, was attentive, energetic, and kind. We went for restaurant week and had a blast! Food, atmosphere, and service were all great.

The restaurant is beautiful. Waited 20 minutes for a reserved table. The French onion soup was incredible. Highly recommend it, keeping in mind the portion is quite sizable. My wife’s order was wrong, which is a pet peeve of mine when the servers memorize your order instead of writing it down. My meal got cold while I waited for the correct meal to arrive. Hamburger was overcooked and my wife’s pasta was bland. Would have been nice if the server offered something for the mistake. Anyway, nice environment, perhaps a little on the loud side. Food was okay at best. We may try again, but hard to recommend over other restaurants in the area that are proven to be excellent and reliable every time.

Went during restaurant week so it was a great value. Butternut Squash soup and Cauliflower apps were good. Mains ok. Desserts good. Beautiful place with attentive staff.

Great time at La Grande Boucherie celebrating our anniversary! We went during resturaunt week and I was suprised at the large portions we received! Our server, Orlando, was spectacular and really made it a great experience. And of course the interior was beautiful! Highly recommended.

The food was good but not as good as had hoped. The service was decent. It was a bday celebration and would have hoped a drink on the house - but nothing. Not sure worth the hype. The decor is impressive. Again - a nice experience but with so many options available…..

Second try after a disappointing first. We returned after customer relations responded to our review. Service was attentive except for the initial seating. The hostess was cold and not at all welcoming. The young man that seated to be bothered. After that, the service was fine. The food again was uneven. My scallops were fine, but my dinner mate's tenderloin was first overcooked and sent back. The second try was raw rather than medium then obviously refired and overcooked again. Sorry, there's no excuse for that , especially when steaks make up half of the menu. Proliferates and cheesecake were satisfying. Drinks well done. The atmosphere is pleasing. Overall, the experience was just OK. Nothing to write home about or go out of your way. There are too many other restaurants to choose from. This is a hard 3 out of 5 despite a good effort.

What a difference experience from my Christmas experience in December! Before I jump into food and drinks- let me just say a huge thank you to our server Tim! He was so nice, knowledgeable and everything he recommended was top notch! Let’s jump into food: Duck Prosciutto was my favorite 100/10, Duck Escargot 8/10, Duck Cossoulet 10/10, Boeuf A La Bourguignon 8/10!!!! Drinks: La Vien Rose 10/10!!! Thank you to the manager that was on duty that continuously checked on us and made us feel warm. I loved sitting on the main level which felt like a different experience as well. Overall- this was a luxury dining experience and aesthetics matched! We’re looking forward to coming back!!

My overall experience at La Grande Boucherie was a 9/10. The only thing I found a little confusing, was waiting for the hostess at the top of the steps, and we were kind of blocking people who were trying to leave.
