Located at 699 14th Street on the coveted corner of 14th and G Street NW, La Grande Boucherie is situated on the most high-profile street in Washington D.C., just one block away from the White House. The restaurant is built in elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style, evoking the sense of optimism from the turn of the 20th century. The brasserie’s menu features both classic and modern French dishes, with focus on the meat program, raw bar and extravagant large-format meats, ideal for sharing and celebrating. Mahogany wood and glass partitions divide the gargantuan space to create intimate dining experiences. These pieces are adorned in gilded accents and uniquely curved arches inspired by the 20th-century Art Nouveau movement of Paris. The main dining room highlights a massive curved bar with a metal top imported from Paris, a signature piece of Boucherie.

Everything was fine but my major mark on the night was the bathrooms were an absolute mess, there was TP all over the floor, a number of the stalls lacked toilet paper. For a restaurant at this price range it is unacceptable for the bathrooms to have been not serviced for that long throughout the dinner service,

Agreablement surprise par ce restaurant! The food was decent and the service was just amazing. My steak wasn’t cooked to my liking and our server immediately suggested to changed it for me and was attentive to my comments. Will definitely visit again!

Waited over 25 minutes for a table after my reservation time so walked out and went elsewhere. The front of the house was a shitshow!!!

This was my first visit here and the waiter suddenly ended her shift during our service and our table of 2 did not get placed with another server until I spoke up after she disappeared for about 20 mins. This was before putting in an order for our entrees. It also took 30 mins to be sat, another 30 for a bottle of wine. Food was great but service was 🚮.

The ambience and food selection were fantastic. Perhaps because it’s a newer space, it seemed some of the service staff were not as knowledgeable/experienced for what you might hope at that price point.

Horrible horrible experience. Ruined my anniversary. Good was cold send back twice still couldn’t get it right horrible service.

Beautiful place, great vibe, gorgeous decor and interior design. Loved the music piping over the speakers. You really feel like you’ve been transported to the 1920’s. Unfortunately, the service was so terrible that it ruined the entire evening. We were told it’s really busy so they wanted the entire order all at once. Then, it took forever to get our drinks, like over 20 minutes. Shortly after our drinks arrived, our entrees arrived too, before our appetizers. We of course sent them back. It was another 30 mins before our apps arrived. During this time we never got any water, even though we asked multiple times. Couldn’t get to our wine that was decanting for about 30 mins. We finally got our entrees, which were stone cold. So, sent them back. While all this was happening our waitress just flat out quit and left, so by now 3 managers and a new waiter are servicing us. It was just all very disappointing. Appreciate them picking up the entire tab, but so sad for such a great looking venue and the food was actually pretty good, once they managed to get it to us and it was warm.

We had a pleasant experience and considering this location is newer, we would go again in the future to see how they grow. I would recommend the Beef Bourgogne and the Scallops. The Beets Salad was absolutely excellent and the highlight of my meal. I would not recommend the Lobster Bisque. It was thin and brothy rather than creamy and there was not one speck of lobster, so it was kind of like flavored water. The flavor was great but it lacked texture and substance. Drinks were well-made, but delivery was slow in the beginning. Creme brulee was wonderful.

Loved our experience, they mastered food, service was amazing! Overall ambience spectacular. If you are looking for a place that can offer experience and good food “usually you have to compromise one” this is your place! Live music added a great touch to the experience as well. Will definitely be back!

TOO LOUD!! Too crowded, especially on main level. Waited 90 minutes for drinks and to Order food. Will not return.
