Located at 699 14th Street on the coveted corner of 14th and G Street NW, La Grande Boucherie is situated on the most high-profile street in Washington D.C., just one block away from the White House. The restaurant is built in elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style, evoking the sense of optimism from the turn of the 20th century. The brasserie’s menu features both classic and modern French dishes, with focus on the meat program, raw bar and extravagant large-format meats, ideal for sharing and celebrating. Mahogany wood and glass partitions divide the gargantuan space to create intimate dining experiences. These pieces are adorned in gilded accents and uniquely curved arches inspired by the 20th-century Art Nouveau movement of Paris. The main dining room highlights a massive curved bar with a metal top imported from Paris, a signature piece of Boucherie.

The restaurant is very beautiful and the food good. The service was poor. We were seated by the bus station with a bunch of people making noise and cold air coming through the windows. We had a reservation and asked to be moved to another table. They gave us the fully booked as we could see other empty tables we could sit at. Went to the bar and had a drink until 20 minuetes later they brought us to a table that had been vacant since we entered. Server really had a difficult time understanding us and could not perform simple tasks. Lime salt and pepeper or oil and vinegar which they see to not offer on salads. Odd for a French restaurant. A lady kept asking us if all was ok but did not want to say anything about the service in the middle of dinner. Certain it would bring even worse service. Food would have been better if service was better. Frequent many upscale restaurants in dc and would probably pass on coming back any time soon. Possibly they have not been around long enough to work out kinks. At this price point service should not be an issue. Many many better upscale restaurants in dc.

Not worth the cost. Too expensive. Food not prepared right. Definitely not on the same level as some nearby restaurants

The food and service was fine, however, there was loud pop-type music playing throughout the restaurant on a Sunday night. I found this odd since this is a French restaurant and it completely ruined the experience. I will not return.

This was a lovely evening spent enjoying delicious wine and food. Be forewarned these come with a hefty price, and in the end, we weren't quite sure that the extremely tight tables and overworked staff matched with the end cost of our meal. Try as they may, the wait staff simply couldn't keep up. Given the space, our wine was in a grouping of buckets, and our waiter never made it back in a timely fashion to refill our glasses of wine or water. Again, we recognize how overworked the staff was, but simply removing one table would make the experience less harried. As for food, the Waygu carpaccio was extraordinarily tender and so were the escargots. My husband and I decided to share the petite seafood tower as our main course, and it was perfect. One nice addition is that the wines are 50% from Sunday through Thursday.

The moment we walked into La Grande Boucherie DC we felt welcomed. The hostess at the entrance shared a little about the beautiful venue before seating us. PRETTY COOL BAR! Our waiter, Steven welcomed us again before introducing himself. His attention made our visit special, as well as the overall staff. We ordered the lobster bisque and the pear salad, the salmon and the steak frites and shared a cheesecake for dessert. We certainly enjoyed our food and dining experience. La Grande Boucherie in NY had already made a good impression on us when we organized a large gathering with family and friends. We appreciate Filip at the hospitaity team, Steven in DC and Izzetin in NYC. Thank you!

The food was fabulous and atmosphere was fun. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants great French food and a beautiful atmosphere!

The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance, and the service was excellent. While the food was decent, the prices felt a bit too high for what was offered.
