Housed in Chicago’s Belle Époque building, the unique Art Nouveau-inspired space honors the iconic building’s legacy while providing guests with a one-of-a-kind atmosphere and menu. La Grande Boucherie blends the ambiance of an indulgent steakhouse with a refined Parisian brasserie charm, and fuses traditional French cuisine with Chicago’s River North culinary heritage. The two-story restaurant boasts custom curved stained-glass windows overlooking the bustling streets of Chicago. The interior features custom mosaic marble floors, authentic fixtures, and a racetrack bar sourced from France. Guests can lean into the view and take in all that Chicago has to offer.

Restaurant week menu was fabulous (so good in fact had to go back twice in the same week.) My friend had the French onion soup and said it was among the best she had eaten. The Caesar salad, steak frites and chocolate cheesecake were all delicious. And a perfect Tito’s dirty martini.

The space is beautiful with wonderful music playing. Unfortunately, the food was less than mediocre and the bill was wrong. The manager tried to fix both of these issues, one successfully. I think this gorgeous space deserves a better chef!

We had lunch here during restaurant week and were impressed with the authenticity, portions, and quality of our meal. The croque madame and Caesar salad reminded us of what we had eaten in France. The ambiance was spot on. Good service.

Restaurant week, so likely more busy than usual, but full hour behind on service so sat an entire hour later than our reservation. Our fault for sticking around, sunk cost. Sat us next to host stand with water/utensils, comped one round of drinks. Food was decent. Place was buzzing; would go back but wouldn’t wait.

We had to wait more than 45 minutes from our reservation time. Service was very slow once we got seated. Noise level made it impossible to hear any conversation between my fiends and I that were going to celebrate a birthday. There was no birthday candle or recognition of my friend’s birthday. Very uncomfortable noise level.
