Housed in Chicago’s Belle Époque building, the unique Art Nouveau-inspired space honors the iconic building’s legacy while providing guests with a one-of-a-kind atmosphere and menu. La Grande Boucherie blends the ambiance of an indulgent steakhouse with a refined Parisian brasserie charm, and fuses traditional French cuisine with Chicago’s River North culinary heritage. The two-story restaurant boasts custom curved stained-glass windows overlooking the bustling streets of Chicago. The interior features custom mosaic marble floors, authentic fixtures, and a racetrack bar sourced from France. Guests can lean into the view and take in all that Chicago has to offer.

                        Our server was patient, kind and very knowledgeable. From the receipt, their name was Kami. The food was very good and the unexpected favorite was the vegetarian eggplant gateau. The restaurant itself was beautifully done. We will be back!

                        We came to La Grande Boucherie for Restaurant Week and it did not disappoint!! It was hopping for a Sunday which added to the great ambiance! The restaurant is very pretty and it feels like you’re dining in a true Parisian Brasserie! This was one of the few restaurants in restaurant week that offered a $45 dinner (most are $60) so I was expecting smaller portions, however, that was not the case! I started with the French onion soup which was perfect- not too salty and loaded with that amazing gooey cheese. Next I had the Pork Diane which was perfectly cooked and accompanied by pommes puree (creamy mashed potatoes) and the decadent Diane sauce with mushrooms. I split this with my son who had the steak frites, also so delicious and cooked to perfection! As a bonus, they had 50% off on many bottles of wine- we had the Sancerre and it was wonderful! The only not so great part of the meal was the chocolate cheesecake dessert - it had a tart raspberry puree (?) and the cheesecake itself was not sweet enough and an odd consistency. My daughter had the fruit tart which was better. We were all so full from dinner that we didn’t care about the dessert anyway. My husband ordered the burger off the menu and it was AMAZING!! Overall, highly recommend this place for food and ambiance; it was a great find!!

                        I wanted to love the place but our server still hadn’t come to the table after 30 minutes and we had to ask someone to find a server for us. She was very good once the service started but the Restaurant Week menu was weak. Good dishes but the starter and dessert were made in absurdly small portions. I’ve never actually seen cheese cake slices so thin. Probably won’t be back based on this first experience.

                        Great place for dinner, good service,at times slow. My wife did not like her salmon, my meat was perfect. Not much originality with dishes. Will definitely give it another try.

                        The decor and overall vib of La Grande Boucherie is classic and very nice. The staff is very friendly. We had a mix up with on of our dishes and our server was tied up; however, the other staff stepped in and then our server took over and within minutes the dish was replaced. We we not rushed and very much taken care of. The meal was very good and the wine was excellent.

                        Food was pretty good, service could have been better. Servers seem to have too big of sections to handle.

                        Worst beef tartare I’ve ever had! Our entrees were ice cold!! Well done duck! Server couldn’t pour champagne, she was basically nonexistent, thank goodness for the ancillary staff. And to the guy with the beard and black hat walking around talking to guests, pretending to be a Chef, nice job walking past our table. You should lean into guests who don’t eat but a few bites, there’s clearly an issue.
