Housed in Chicago’s Belle Époque building, the unique Art Nouveau-inspired space honors the iconic building’s legacy while providing guests with a one-of-a-kind atmosphere and menu. La Grande Boucherie blends the ambiance of an indulgent steakhouse with a refined Parisian brasserie charm, and fuses traditional French cuisine with Chicago’s River North culinary heritage. The two-story restaurant boasts custom curved stained-glass windows overlooking the bustling streets of Chicago. The interior features custom mosaic marble floors, authentic fixtures, and a racetrack bar sourced from France. Guests can lean into the view and take in all that Chicago has to offer.

              Even though the tables are really close to each other, I mean almost shoulder to shoulder, the experience wast great, the service was on point and the food was awesome. I'll be coming back for sure!

              The restaurant is amazing. The food and drinks are memorable. You walk in and you feel you are in Paris. The service was outstanding. This is a wonderful place for memories. We had the duck and the pork and both were presented elegantly. The flavors were deep. The cheesecake was so good. Dense and rich.

              I had a great time here! The food was solid but the drinks and ambiance was even better! Definitely coming back for the Steak and Frites!

              Very loud and cramped. Our waiter was very slow and not attentive. Took too long between the appetizer and the entree. Appetizer was delicious - we had the foie gras mousse. The entree was ok… the regular ribeye was dry. The pomme puree came out cold.

              It was all great. The wait staff was so professional. Our only challenge was checking in for our reservations; my name is Beth Kljajic and my husbands name is Ray Kljajic. I was rudely told I had no reservation; had to show her my Opentable email. She said the reservation was in Ray’s name not mine? First time I’ve ever had a problem with an Opentable reservation. I stood on one foot, surgery boot on the other, arguing with her that it was my reservation. Not representative of all the great staffing and service we experienced.

              Nice room. Wine and oysters were good. But how do you not offer a taste of the wine before you pour 2 huge glasses? Can’t say same for the cooked food. Surprising that mashed potatoes at a French restaurant tasted chalky like they were out of a box. Under seasoned across the board. Way better options in our great city. Sorry. Won’t be back.

              Very small tables arranged very close together, especially near the windows. The server and waitstaff’s butt was basically on top of our table as they served the adjacent table. Service was extremely slow and it wasn’t very busy. The steak was cold in the middle by the time we received it. I think they just have some kinks to work out and they will rival some of the other places downtown. The drinks were phenomenal and the decor was 10/10. Don’t count this place out as I hope they can make some improvements.
