Housed in Chicago’s Belle Époque building, the unique Art Nouveau-inspired space honors the iconic building’s legacy while providing guests with a one-of-a-kind atmosphere and menu. La Grande Boucherie blends the ambiance of an indulgent steakhouse with a refined Parisian brasserie charm, and fuses traditional French cuisine with Chicago’s River North culinary heritage. The two-story restaurant boasts custom curved stained-glass windows overlooking the bustling streets of Chicago. Decor, down to the chairs and small cosy tables - very similar to a French cafe. Beautiful. Authentic from tile bar, entry.....down to unhelpful and condescending waiter. The lobster bisque on scale of 1-10is a 20. Authentic: thick, rich, with sufficient identifiable lobster morsels. Frites are perfect - tasty and crispy not greasy. In following with the reviews about the duck being hit or miss- this sadly was a miss. Would not order again. Though the lentil over mashed potatoes was devine- would order again. Wine bottle selection excellent. Wine by the glass selection is quite thin unfortunately.

We ordered the onion soup, pork diane, the eggplant dish and a side of pomme frites- everything was delicious and would recommend. And don't hesitate to order the pofiteroles, plenty for two people. We'll be back.

I attended La Boucherie with my family we had a reservation but our evening started off rough, the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy but they made us wait for twenty minutes. When the hostess did text us that our table was ready, it actually wasn’t. They quickly ran around to prepare a table that was previously empty. While we waited for our table we went to the bar to get a drink. The bar tender was not great and our drinks were not very good. Our waiter was snooty and the menu did not disclose all the ingredients so when the food arrived we were disappointed with the quality and taste. Overall it was fine, but we would not be coming back.

The food is mediocre and drinks are overpriced. While our server was very nice, the overall service was terrible. I think maybe they were understaffed. Regardless, a very disappointing experience.

Most excellent torchon. Of foie A little skimpy for $$$ Steak tartare texture was very un appealing Very nice service LOVE the warm bread with room temp butter and salt - excellent ! Beautiful desserts and atmosphere ! Lovely lovely lovely foie gras
