Housed in Chicago’s Belle Époque building, the unique Art Nouveau-inspired space honors the iconic building’s legacy while providing guests with a one-of-a-kind atmosphere and menu. La Grande Boucherie blends the ambiance of an indulgent steakhouse with a refined Parisian brasserie charm, and fuses traditional French cuisine with Chicago’s River North culinary heritage. The two-story restaurant boasts custom curved stained-glass windows overlooking the bustling streets of Chicago. The interior features custom mosaic marble floors, authentic fixtures, and a racetrack bar sourced from France. Guests can lean into the view and take in all that Chicago has to offer.

The service was great. The waiter could not have been more attentive. I ordered the chicken breast which was way overcooked.

Had a reservation for 8:15pm, and was sat fairly quickly. Food was delicious, service was good. Drinks took longer than expected (after food was served). Ran out of the cheesecake (it was restaurant week) but we ordered off the menu. Water glassed were never empty. Beautiful restaurant, wonderful ambiance. Will definitely be back.

Great service. Food was delicious. Restaurant ambiance is reminiscent of Belle Epoque France from lights to artwork on the walls. Sitting on the second floor looking down on the first floor bar is very cool.

We had a large group,a table of 7, because of this the restaurant added an automatic 22% tip. Which would have been fine if the service was better. Unfortunately, the waiter although nice rarely checked in on us and the food service was extremely slow. Our meal took over three hours. The restaurant was also not too busy so this was a little disappointing. Food was fine.

This was during restaurant week so I know my opinion is skewed. But Great service. Food was ok. It was loud. Couldn’t have a Coherent conversation. Overall solid experience though.

The ambiance is incredible and made the night feel really special. We dined from the restaurant week menu and the place seemed possibly busier than it would be otherwise. WE had a lovely table on the 2nd floor overlooking the bar. The Pork Diane was very good - tasty and tender. My husband's steak frites left something to be desired. He loved the beet salad and his fruit tart desert. Service felt basic but not special. I would return and I imagine the regular menu has some wonderful things to try. They had two nice non-alcoholic cocktail options and the one I had was really nice.

It’s really sad, but this was the worst Eggs Benedict of my life. English muffin was tough as leather, salmon was too salty, eggs and potatoes were unseasoned. Cappuccino was great and a perfect size. Staff was trying to do their jobs, but they seemed tired and overworked. The space has a feeling of a train station. It’s really noisy and it felt like we sat in everyone’s way. The building is beautiful and with some effort could be a great spot.

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience at La Grande Boucherie! The service was incredible, with Manuel giving us a nice history on the recent renovations and some of the decor. We went for brunch on the first day of restaurant week, it was a great value and the dishes were 10 out of 10. The decor is lovely, the music on point. Highly recommend!!

I had high hopes for La Grande Boucherie, having eagerly anticipated dining there since it opened. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations, leaving me thoroughly disappointed. Despite having made a reservation, I was subjected to a frustrating hour-long wait before being seated. It was clear that the restaurant was ill-prepared for the restaurant week crowd, which only compounded my disappointment. As a guest who had looked forward to this meal, waiting so long felt unacceptable and poorly managed. When we were finally seated, I hoped the food would redeem the experience, but sadly, that was not the case. The dishes we ordered tasted awful—lackluster flavors and unappealing presentations left much to be desired. It was disheartening to see a place I had long wanted to try serve food that felt rushed and underwhelming. Overall, my experience at La Grande Boucherie was a letdown. What should have been a delightful culinary adventure turned into an evening of frustration and disappointment. I can only hope that they improve their service and food quality in the future, but for now, I can't recommend it.
