Housed in Chicago’s Belle Époque building, the unique Art Nouveau-inspired space honors the iconic building’s legacy while providing guests with a one-of-a-kind atmosphere and menu. La Grande Boucherie blends the ambiance of an indulgent steakhouse with a refined Parisian brasserie charm, and fuses traditional French cuisine with Chicago’s River North culinary heritage. The two-story restaurant boasts custom curved stained-glass windows overlooking the bustling streets of Chicago. The interior features custom mosaic marble floors, authentic fixtures, and a racetrack bar sourced from France. Guests can lean into the view and take in all that Chicago has to offer.

Restaurant was less than half full. Host didn’t offer to take coats, no server came to our table for ~30 min - had to grab someone and get served. Food was decent at best. Seemed like no one was in charge…a shame because this place is new and we’ve been there a couple times prior, but likely wont go back.

MANUEL!!! I love the food, love the ambience, always have great service but wow he really blew it out of the park. I can’t tell you the last time I had a server who was so knowledgeable and passionate about food and wine. He was a peak example of anticipating our needs and offering suggestions in a way that was truly helpful without at all being pushy. This man is a rockstar and he made our experience!

This is my second time at La Grande Boucherie - first time I didn’t have the best experience but second time was much better. Drinks are amazing, food was okay, service is slower but as an European I don’t mind that at all, definitely gives off European restaurant vibes. Overall good experience

The restaurant is beautiful, but the food and the service are lacking. I would not go back nor would I recommend it.

I highly recommend La Grande Boucherie. The space is beautiful. We felt like we were in Paris and the Xmas lights added to the ambience. So many delicious sounding items on the menu. It was hard to decide. We both had the lobster bisque and a Croque Monsieur and were too full for dessert! The staff from the hostess Natalie, our server Nico, and the manager Scott were attentive and welcoming. Go there!!!

Decor, down to the chairs and small cosy tables - very similar to a French cafe. Beautiful. Authentic from tile bar, entry.....down to unhelpful and condescending waiter. The lobster bisque on scale of 1-10is a 20. Authentic: thick, rich, with sufficient identifiable lobster morsels. Frites are perfect - tasty and crispy not greasy. In following with the reviews about the duck being hit or miss- this sadly was a miss. Would not order again. Though the lentil over mashed potatoes was devine- would order again. Wine bottle selection excellent. Wine by the glass selection is quite thin unfortunately.

We ordered the onion soup, pork diane, the eggplant dish and a side of pomme frites- everything was delicious and would recommend. And don't hesitate to order the pofiteroles, plenty for two people. We'll be back.
