The steak tempaquina has lost its appeal. They switched it to a strip loin instead of what it's supposed to be a flat iron steak. I will not order it again after having it twice now. I had the flat iron version at least 10 times in the past.

We had more appetizer food, not the dinner plates, and their top shelf margarita. Both the food and the drinks were just ok, lacked real flavor. The staff were nice and the space was cute but would not recommend.

It was all decent food, nothing outstanding though. A bit disappointed at the ground beef in the beef enchiladas. Chicken was a bit overcooked and dry. Not sure I like the all-inclusive pricing where you get a drink, appy, meal, and dessert in one price. Drink means a soft drink or tea/coffee which we didn't want, the appy includes two choices of soup or a green salad, also not something we would normally order with mexican, dessert was a scoop of ice cream which we would also not normally order. So we ended up paying for food we didn't really want, or in the case of the soft drink, didn't get at all. This was our second trip downtown to La Casita as we liked the selection the first time, but we will likely go somewhere else for our next Mexican date night.

Some menu items have changed over the years and are now made with inferior ingredients or have been reduced in size bringing down the experience for me but the service was still good. I would return but probably not with the frequency that initially made this place a gem.
