Nestled amongst riverside treetops on Southgate’s mid level, La Camera boasts two balconies with stunning views over The Yarra River and iconic Flinders Street Station. The interior is adorned with vintage black-and-white photographs depicting the history of the family that has owned and operated the restaurant since it opened in 2000. La Camera Southgate offers an array of authentic Italian dishes including unique Roman-style pizzas, authentic Pappardelle Ox Cheek from Trastevere-Rome and by far the most delectable Tiramisu in town. The emphasis is on quality ingredients, and fresh seasonal produce.

We had the Seafood Linguine, 4 mussels from a tin, bits of white fish and 2 prawns, no flavour at all.

The ‘old favourites’ Menu makes it easy to choose. These dishes are always a high standard and delicious. The service is prompt for diners who need a pre theatre meal and the staff are friendly and courteous.

The staff at La Camera went above and beyond with our booking on a busy Saturday night. As we were running late they suggested that we order over the phone so when we arrived our meals were ready. The meals were nice and fresh and of the utmost dedication to the Italian cuisine. We all enjoyed our meals.

One word AMAZING! The food was delicious, the Tiramisu was divine, was traditional and super fresh. The service was of a very high standard and i loved the special touches that were added to our experience. eg Our waiter maybe in his mid 40's said "i like to introduce you to my family when people sit here" because up on the wall above us was a huge canvas with a collage of his family members over the years. "thats me when i was 2 years old and thats my Nonna making pasta" it was a very special and meaningful touch which i loved. Well done team, we will be back when we visit the city next.

Good was really tasty. Service is always fantastic as well. We had a show to see and the food came out nice and quick.
