Food was very well prepared and flavorful. We enjoyed the shrimp flambe, coquilles st. jacques and cornish hen entree. Service was attentive and professional. Restaurant was quiet and comfortable, tables well spaced. We'll be back!

Service was very slow and there were several mistakes with our orders. This was a weekday evening and there was only two employees serving the guests. This maybe why the dining experience was not so good.

Fabulous food the owners make everything and it is so delicious. We highly recommend this beautiful restaurant in old town Herndon. You will not regret the wonderful experience and the lovely ambiance.

To celebrate my husband’s birthday , he suggested we try this new restaurant. I looked at it online and was very impressed. I immediately called and made a reservation. We were absolutely delighted from the minute we walked inside. We were immediately seated and the French rolls arrived within minutes. Both of us were delighted with our entrees. Every bite was fabulous. The service was excellent! We will most definitely return! It was a memorable birthday for sure.

Replaces the old Russia House in Herndon, with the same lovely couple managing/serving there. A lot of items have been carried over. Drinks are overpriced. The profiteroles seemed like they were straight from Costco. As a high-end "French" restaurant, I would have loved to have tried some authentic French butter. Instead, just hard wrapped patties...which fortunately the steaming hot bread was able to melt quickly. Dinner was gratefully served hot, as most restaurants are unable to attain. This is a wonderful retreat from the everyday bustle of life. Though, plan on spending a day's wages per person. Regrettably, they may be pricing themselves out of more frequent regular attendance.

The overall dinning experience was exquisite. Starting with the beauty and welcoming ambience, tastiest freshly baked rolls and butter, aperitifs, variety of first course choices, this restaurant continues to exceed expectations. The extensive main course menu offers many choices and we enjoyed the finest trout almandine and beef stroganoff. Dessert topped off a perfect evening.

What a wonderful find! We were on a business trip in Reston and love French cuisine, so we were on a mission to find a spot to visit regularly when in town. Located in the historic area of Herndon, the restaurant was newly re-opened after a total renovation and has a great “neighborhood” vibe. Everything about our experience was outstanding - from the lovely intimate, physical space to the welcome and attention from the owners. He runs the front of house, and she oversees the back (and the recipes are hers) - with the right personal touch. Our dinner was also perfection. We ordered the beet salad, steak tartare, and the beef stroganoff; and fresh, hot rolls were ample. The chardonnay was the perfect accompaniment. One of the best meals we have ever enjoyed! We have already recommended La Bonne Vie to friends, and will absolutely return.
