Definitely paying for the aesthetic. Beautiful restaurant, good service, but the food was lacking and the prices definitely did not reflect the value. There are much better sushi restaurants in dc.

had courtside seats at the sushi bar watching the magic happen up close. thank you to chef fong and your whole team! so happy i live in a city where places like this exist. list of favorites: the smoke box with toro - all my senses loved it the winner roll - a must but everyone knows that already the a5 and ramen - my all time favorite. sliced beautifully thin with a WHOLE rack of caviar on top. zero complaints. will be back. TAKE MY MONEYYYY 🤣🤩

The food did not meet expectations. With all of the hype we expected much better. The service was poor, 35 minutes to get drinks, they tried to upsell us on the lobster and wagyu. Rolls came out 10 minutes after we ordered, making us think everything is prepared in advance. Stay away from the tuna with black truffles. The truffles are fake and flavorless. Very frenetic environment. I do not recommend. There are much better places for sushi in DC.

The restaurant reminds guests via an obnoxious text and also an Open Table message that they’re “so busy” guests get 90 minutes to dine and if more time is needed to talk to the server. Service was so abysmal and slow that we were painfully trying to cancel two scoops of birthday ice cream so we could pay our bill and leave after two annoying hours. I would normally be patient with a place given it was crowded, but our server managed to seat two tables after us and get them out the door long before our check arrived. We also asked at least four times for soy sauce, wasabi and ginger which should be an automatic to the table at a sushi spot. Several rolls that would have benefitted from the condiments had to be consumed without. I find the repeated texts “timing” our dinner to be rude given how terrible the level of service was. We won’t go back and definitely do not recommend this spot. What should have been a special meal celebrating our twins’ 21st birthday turned out terribly!

this was one of the most incredibly beautiful, exciting and delicious evenings we’ve had in a long time! We are traveling from out of town and shared many photos with our West Coast family! Bravo to the team.

some of the best sushi i’ve ever had. was a wonderful experience. drinks were yummy. service was impeccable. food was to die for. highly recommend!

Good food, great service with lots of recommendations in a restaurant that is trendy. The options were wide and the sushi delicious. The restaurant could provide more directions to get there but other than this it is great.
