Edinburgh’s first gourmet steak restaurant, Kyloe Restaurant and Grill is found within The Rutland Hotel in the city’s West End, complete with castle views. Kyloe is an old Scots word for Highland cattle, chosen to represent the strength and versatility of the restaurant’s main event. Supplied by Scotland’s top farms, the Kyloe Restaurant and Grill uses cuts from pedigree Aberdeen Angus, taking provenance, rigorous approaches to breeding and handling and heritage seriously in order to bring customers the ultimate steak dining experience. Kyloe’s award winning head chef John Rutter uses a selection of traditional cuts as well as some more unusual cuts chosen for texture and flavour in an innovative grill menu while his a la carte features seasonal Scottish produce simply prepared to produce compelling dishes. Rutter's creations are complemented by the works of in house pastry chef Amanda Jordan and a unique and interesting wine list sourced through a number of merchants.

Fantastic food and lovely service. Wine is pricey - but same throughout Edinburgh - and we managed to choose one at a reasonable price that was delicious. Highly recommend the Steak me Out deal as the chateaubriand was amazing and we really enjoyed the truffle Mac and cheese 😋

We had an amazing meal at Kyloe. The food was truly unforgettable and the service was prompt and cheerful. I'm so glad we chose Kyloe to celebrate a graduation at. Thank you all for being so passionate about what you do

Overall great lunch experience. The steak was beautiful and the fish delicious. It was served very beautifully. Initially we arrived early and they accommodated us at an earlier time. Service was lovely however just at the end of the visit it was busier and it took about 10/15 minutes to get someone’s attention to get the bill and pay. But overall recommended.

Brilliant Sunday roast, if a little pricey. however, the quality of food and service was outstanding. Try the Georgian Red Wine as well.

Nice food, disappointing service. The staff were ruse and made no effort to make us feel welcome. The experience was nice despite of them.

Having carefully selected Kyloe for a celebratory birthday meal on visiting Edinburgh, we were met with a gorgeous restaurant, exuding elegance and style. George our waiter was fantastic, informative and passionate about their produce. The guidance on our steak preferences was fantastic and meant we were both treated to the best steaks we have ever had, cooked to absolute perfection. The wine suggestions were also very welcome and added to the meal even further. A fantastic restaurant for steak lovers, and a must visit when in Edinburgh

Anniversary Meal. Would absolutely recommend. Great service and menu guidance - very knowledgable staff! Thoughtful anniversary gesture (chocolates). Possibly one of the best steaks we’ve ever had! Lovely atmosphere - not too busy, good music level. All round fantastic evening.

our first visit and surpassed our expectations. Staff very friendly and accommodating. We tried the 'Steak me out' - Chateaubriand which was delicious, totally enhanced with our selected accompaniments. The wine was also superb if a little pricey but it was a special occasion. We'd go back. Mike.
