The food was delicious. We started with the box of 5 different slices straight from Japan! Cocktails and sake were good but came after our first course.

Horrible service. Our table was next to the restroom walk way. People literally walking by the table the whole time.

Kuu blows us out of the water every time!! Honestly, I’m surprised it’s not more packed every time we go. The food is consistent and so fresh. The best sushi in memorial hands down. Also, Lycheetinis and the bartenders are always top notch!

We had the Omikase tasting menu, and it never disappoints - every dish is surprising, inventive, and exquisitely delicious. The courses included sashimi of fish (or fishes...like seven different kinds) flown in from Japan, Wagyu beef, scallops, lamb, eel with foie gras, Madai snapper.. and my favorite - three increasingly fatty pieces of tuna nigiri sprinkled with an earthy wasabi I had never tasted before. Dessert is always the most unexpected treat, with a Japanese take on Western classics like tiramisu or black sesame macarons with green tea ice cream. The service was wonderful, staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable. This is why I keep coming back for my most important occasions - the meal is a celebration and an event of its own. We've been to KUU several times.... always a pleasure. This time was not the best for sure. We were greeted and seated at a table promptly. No one came to the table. After 10-15 minutes of waiting...I decided to approach the manager by the kitchen. I asked if there was a waiter and he basically dismissed me...walked away. Unbelievable arrogance. Luckily a waiter was there who did respond. He found our waiter who was too busy...so we were lucky enough to get someone who cared. The menus had pages that were unreadable because the ink was gone...there's an opportunity here or several. The rest of the evening was great...food and service.

The menu has changed since I was there. I spent $50 for saka nave (rice with fish) and tuna tartar (bits of tuna swimming in a green sauce). The food was not great and neither was the service. The waitress explained an item as protein, carb and something else. When I asked what is this, she said, I told you protein, And I said what type of protein and she said chicken. I don’t plan on returning and I would not recommend, I was there at 11:30 AM

I had the omakase and it was more of a pre set menu than anything else. Most dishes were boring and simple. Seared tuna salad was basic, the 5 types of almost the same sashimi in a bowl boring, the 5 nigiri was the only good part and was nothing more than the selection at a basic sushi restaurant.

Best sushi in Houston Texas! The japanese fish arrivals are just perfect and vary with the seasons. The more sophisticated menu dishes such as the Kampachio or Hamachio that combine fish with citrus are just a delight. If you are into meat the hot rock beaf just melts in your mouth. Even the deserts are delicious at Kuu! The only small downside is that it is a little bit expensive, but the quality of the ingredients just makes it all worth it!
