This was our first time on a Wednesday to try the 50% off ribeye sizzling steak. We prefered it with the teri sauce. It was a good deal & we'd go again if we could get another OpenTable reservation.

This was our first time at Kuni & we were very happy. The restaurant & the women's bathroom were very clean. Friends that have gone to Kuni's before said it much be renovated. Yay for us! We really enjoyed our food & look forward to returning in the future.

Wonderful local Japanese restaurant. You can tell it’s a local favorite and has tons of regulars.

Restaurant was very busy. The owner was assisting his staff with the Table seating and food delivery to the tables, also taking the time to ask each customer if our experience in his restaurant was going well. Refreshing to see this small business doing all it does to see that the Customers are being serviced. Food was excellent.

Kuni Restaurant is best described as a legit, old-school, local, Japanese restauraunt. Just based on the number of uncles and aunties having Coors Light with their meal--haha! We ordered the Ohana style and the kids had saimin. Everything was so ono! Sizzling steak and sizzling tofu steak and shrimp tempura and vegetable tempura and chicken katsu and sashimi?! OMG, it was crazy. Ok, this isn't some high-end, Michelin star restaurant so even if I thought the food was great, I restrained myself and rated it "very good" just to keep things honest. BUT it was perfect for what it was and my family and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We'll definitely be back! Bonus for the laid back atmosphere b/c we always ask ourselves why we even bother going somewhere nice with the kids since either they don't like anything on the menu or can't sit still for the entire meal.

Kuni’s a long time Japanese Cuisine Restaurant located in the heart of Waipahu. Local favorites include Barbecue Tofu (made with a special sauce grilled to perfection and served on a sizzling Hot plate). Love their Sukiyaki wether it’s Beef, Pork, or Chicken. Lots of good fresh ingredients prepared with care, delightfully delicious.

50% off sizzling steak platter (Wednesday only) was great deal. Host also comped a small bowl of ahi poke...so Ono. Will definitely visit on Wednesday again!!!

Reservations with a possible $25 per person charge seemed excessive!! We were asked to move tables which was ok I guess. The serve was knowledgeable because it was our first time here we had questions. The menu setup was ok but I would have changed the pictures to reflect the premium items being noted under the pictures and not just listed on the bottom like the premium cost also listed next to the pictures. Most of the premium items were pictured kind of miss leading. The food came quickly and everything tasted pretty good just the Mahi tempura was not a favorite. We will probably go back again to try different things but probably take our chances by calling or trying to walk in. Not use open table With the $25 fee for No Show
