Krakatoa Indonesian Cuisine serves some of the most flavorful foods from Indonesia. We specialize in flavors from the area of Sumbawa Island Indonesia. Many dishes are inspired by the chef's memories and experiences as a child. Flavors of lemon grass, kaffir lime, coconut milk, coriander, and cumin meander through the menu. Krakatoa offers a variety of dishes, including vegetarian dishes exploding with flavor. All of our dishes are unique and cooked to order so they are the freshest possible when they arrive to your table. If you are looking for something new and different come join us in our cozy little restaurant. Experience a little bit of Indonesia not only in our food but our atmosphere where we have brought some items from our travels with many pictures to see and a big map of Indonesia that is sure to spark a conversation. We have been to Krakatoa many times and have loved the food there which has been gery flavorful. However, this most recent visit the food was surprsingly bad. The lamb dish which we have had before was overcooked and flavorless and very salty. The rice also tasted different from what we have had before. It was very disappointing. The service was still OK and the restaurant was mostly empty (while in the past it has been bustling) perhaps a telling sign that we should have taken into account. Very disappointed .

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner of Mie Goreng with Tofu and Pecel (we split both). So tasty and made to perfection for both my friend (who likes no spice) and me with added hot chili sauce (who likes spice galore). Keisha was a delightful server.

Our first time there. Food was excellent, large portions, service was spot on. Will be back. We had a window table and enjoyed the people watching. Wished you had a full bar.

4.5 Amazing food and flavour, will definitely visit again. Coconut pancakes were a hit! I would’ve liked a little more acid (on the veg) to contrast the richness of the Rijsttafel

This is our third visit to the restaurant over the past 2 years. The first visit was very good, with attentive service and great food. The second experience was disappointing, with below average service and average food. I thought it might have been an anomaly so decided to give it another try last night with some friends, hoping for a repeat of our first visit, rather than second. Last night turned out to be even worse. The waiter was inattentive, rude and mostly unavailable and unwilling to answer questions. The food was well below average with the meat being tough and chicken being dry. Even the vegetables were old. The dessert, a simple layered sponge cake, was downright awful. With 2 of 3 experiences now being terrible, we will not be returning.

We love this place! The food is delicious and unique. Owners recipes are special. We had to sit outside due to one of the people in our party having a medical service dog. The neighborhood on a Friday night is problematic as there are people smoking pot all over the street, heavily intoxicated people bothering the outside tables. Sad but a reality.
