Not much other than ambience ! Hard Halibut ! Mediocre rock shrimp ! Thin/small cut sashimi platter of 12 pieces for £52 . After a reasonably good experience with Thai Koyn was extremely disappointed with the Japanese food here with serious competition with other good Japanese in london ambience alone not enough.

Apparently the Chef was a Nobu for a number of years before opening his own restaurant. The setting and ambience is very good as is the location in Mayfair, the rest, pretty ordinary. The Rock Shrimp Tempura is much better at Nobu and the black cod, about the same. The waitresses are adequate but not as welcoming and I had to ask for extra ginger three times before I got it. Then, with the bill they added the 15% tip and then asked for a further tip which I foolishy added on without thinking about. It was only later that I realised what they had done.

Nobu-like in many ways. Tiny portions of good but not outstanding Japanese cuisine. Fresh fish in tiny cuts on the nigiri. Credible karaage but not well seasoned. Nice atmosphere and good service. Positive experience but not memorable

It was a pleasant dining experience. Thoroughly enjoyed the dishes and ambience. Unfortunately the crab dishes were unavailable, but simple pleasant menu otherwise. X

Loved the food and the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the dishes, attentative and had a great report with eachother. A very enjoyable evening. Thank you
