KONA Steak & Seafood was voted the "Best New Restaurant" winner on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula for 2023. Located in the popular Del Monte Shopping Center in Monterey, just minutes from Carmel, Pacific Grove, & all Peninsula cities.
A fabulous menu! Enjoy fresh seafood, lobster, Hawaiian loco moco, fresh ahi tuna, a great bacon cheeseburger, bone-in rib eye, miso-glazed seabass, filet mignon, macadamia nut crusted halibut, entree salads, cioppino, seafood pasta, Maui onion soup, coconut curry soup, and a large host of enticing appetizers. Enjoy KONA's generous portions, good value, & free abundant parking! The house baked desserts are worth a trip on their own..... incredible!! The food is amazing, the inside of the restaurant is decorated beautifully. We had a great server. We went at the tail end of lunch so it wasn’t too busy which was nice. We were celebrating our anniversary and before we left they brought out this fun dry ice bowl with a couple of chocolates balanced on a pretty level above it. They were more than happy to take a picture of us. We will definite be back.

The entire experience is always top level from the hosts to the service level and food quality. Extremely enjoyable!

Birthday dinner with friends. Started with coconut shrimp-crispy & light served with a tasty sauce. Halibut was perfectly cooked & delicious. Tuna-shrimp-crab-avocado stack was amazing! Love the slices of oranges that accompanied the dish. Tacos were puffy & light. Best coconut cream pie ever! Will be back!

The restaurant was beautiful and the atmosphere was great. Our server Dayton was amazing. Very accommodating. My only dissatisfaction was my miso-yaki seabass. I didn’t taste any of the ginger/citrus glaze. I won’t b eating my leftovers. My mai tai was good. They didn’t skimp on the alcohol! My friends tacos looked amazing. Dessert, lava cake, was moist and delicious. The dry ice was a cool presentation. Overall good experience and I’d give it a 2nd chance next time I visit. I’ll just order something else.

Delicious fried artichoke heart appetizer came out within two minutes (it seemed) after ordering it. Fried rice with fresh scallions and peas to add color and crunch, topped with grilled chicken (for her) and kalua pork came out in quantities large enough to feed four people each. The size was an error -- when we questioned higher prices on the bill, our waitress said, "Good question" and came back with a corrected bill. Apparently there's a family size serving -- which we did our best to try to devour. We also lucked into scrumptious pillowy-soft buns, delivered to the wrong table. Nice, Hawaiian accented decor, a TV by the bar, far from the dining area.

Brought our guests to have a nice Sunday evening dinner in the outdoor patio that was a great dining experience for their first time there. Food and service were excellent as usual!

Really excellent service! The food was delicious and our server Sierra went above and beyond to make our visit enjoyable. We made a reservation for outdoor seating because we had our dog with us and they provided a dog menu so we could order for her too! We mentioned our anniversary and they brought out this really cool dried ice plate with some Lindt truffles, which was a nice ending to our dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you have your dog with you!

Menu with very diverse selections, many reflective of island fare. Started off with Calamari Appetizer. Not the typical rings and tentacles. A great portion of lightly panko fried body accompanied by a sweet, slightly spicy sauce and a very tasty lemony Tatar sauce. Wonderful! Entrees included fried rice with salmon and lunch sized Caesar salad. Both well prepared with generous portions. The grand Gino was the lemon bread pudding. Very tasty. The service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive. Definitely a repeat in order.
