Situated where it's always been: on the waterfront in the heart of old Kona town, offering one of the most beautiful restaurant settings in the world. The open air environment with unobstructed views of the Kona sunsets offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a romantic dinner accompanied by the wonderful sounds of waves breaking right in front of the restaurant.

Seafood is King at the Kona Inn where the fresh fish are brought in daily by the local fisherman. The mammoth horseshoe-shaped all-Koa-wood bar is a world-famous watering hole that serves the best Mai Tai in the Isands and the coldest beer on the Big Island. You have not truly had an Hawaiian experience until you've visited the Kona Inn Restaurant.

The Dennys of Seafood! Food was terrible and SO overpriced. I ordered the macadamia crusted mahi mahi and they were like 2 hard dry discs. I was shocked when the bill came and it was $64!!! (No price on the menu). The flavors were not good at all. I mentioned that I didn’t care for it to the waiter but he gave no response really. (I got a delicious high end meal at a high end restaurant for the same price). Also, I love a good strong drink but the Mai tai’s were way too strong. I couldn’t even finish the second one. Not at all balanced. Very disappointing!

Great views, but slow service and the food was not good. Under cooked scallops, dry mashed potatoes and really tough Ono.

Lovely setting and a lot of potential, but the food was poor. Seems like they are taking shortcuts and using frozen fish for some dishes. Seems to go against their history as a prime place for fresh fish. Too bad.

Our Ono dinner wasn’t very good very tough fish which is unacceptable since it’s very hard to beat Ono. Mashed potatoes were very bad as well and I paid $4 for them too. This is Usually not the case with Kona inn. T hank you

Frozen crusted mahi at market price was not that good. Waiter was cranky and appeared to be over-worked. Plants in dining room appeared to be dying. Place was dingey. Not the Kona Inn I remembered.

Unfortunately, not much of a selection and minimal staff which made ordering a long wait. Food was decent, not great but edible and flavorful.

Two experiences in a row where the appetizers were delivered after the main course. Don’t order your main until you have your apps!! PS..claimed I didn’t have a reservation despite me showing the app. Beautiful place, service not great.
