Sungchul Shim, formerly of Per Se and most recently Neta, opens his first solo project Kochi in Hell’s Kitchen

KOCHI - Korean for ‘skewer’- a tasting menu of skewered dishes as well as menu items inspired by traditional Korean cuisine that’s built around seasonality and balance.

We are proud to present this menu as an homage to traditional Korean flavors elevated by the hand of gastronomic technique. Incorporating the freshest local ingredients daily, this is our exquisite interpretation of Korean cuisine.

[PLEASE NOTE]

We are not able to accommodate vegan, vegetarian with gluten-free and celiac diets as well as any allergies or aversions to allium, sesame (even if sesame oil is consumable), soy, gluten, and alcohol. We are able to accommodate vegetarians, aversions to red meat, shellfish, seafood, dairy, nut, gluten (if soy and soy sauce is consumable) and alcohol (if cooked alcohol is consumable) with at least a day of notice in advance.

Sungchul Shim, ancien élève du Bernardin et du Per Se, éblouit ses convives avec un menu dégustation coréen à neuf plats composé de brochettes grillées à déguster avec les mains. On y trouve une multitude de plats originaux, comme des croquettes à la soupe de betterave, dans le cadre élégant de marbre et de bois du restaurant Hell's Kitchen, étoilé par le guide Michelin.

For a fine dining restaurant the bathroom was not at the caliber you’d expect. It felt more like a public restroom at a pub or park. The ambience was loud, and there was a customer who was yelling the whole time that the staff didn’t quiet. While the food was just ok, the experience didn’t feel like the fine dining aesthetic you’d expect.

The food was good but the service was very hurried. The courses kept coming too quickly, and we definitely felt rushed.

Amazing food experience and I will definitely come back. We had the chef's tasting menu and loved everything about it. Unfortunately we only got outdoor seating as we only reserved late that day. Highly recommended!

We had the Chef’s tasting, Every dish was exceptional! Creative use of ingredients and flavors matched only by the modern cooking methods employed to bring them to the table. The savory dishes were so good that I was expecting a drop off when it was time for desserts but they were equally impressive. Definitely worth making a reservation

If I could give it a 6+ for Food I would. This is an incredible experience from beginning to end...excellent ingredients, creative presentation, pure delicious indulgence.
