Overlooking Loch Feochan with panoramic views of rugged mountains and tranquil islands, Knipoch Hotel is just a short drive from Oban, the seafood capital of Scotland and a gateway to the Isles.
This historic 4 star hotel dates back hundreds of years, and retains original oak-panelled walls and open fires.

We have a passion for delivering great food at Knipoch.
Our Chef has created a delicious contemporary menu featuring the best of fresh local ingredients from Argyll’s and the Highlands natural larder.
We have a fine selection of wines, local malts and hand crafted gins, and our staff to guide you to the best choice, our cosy wood panelled bar is also a haven for relaxation at the end of the evening.
Every Saturday and Sunday we are also serving a new Weekend Roast from 12 noon to 9.00 pm.

We've been eating at the Knipoch for special occasions since it opened last year and love the venue, staff and ambience. This time we felt the lunch menu was not as good as on previous occasions. This may be due to the fact that they don't have many lunch visitors but if I had just dropped in on spec I don't think I'd go back. It didn't seem to be due to lack of staff, Becky and Mark served us and they worked hard to make our time enjoyable. There was a new Summer menu which was quite limited. We will definately go back because of the relationship we have developed with the hotel and staff. We hope others who may be similarly disapointed will give them a second chance.

We had an excellent evening , with very attentive staff. The ambience is lovely..very comfortable. The only very slight negative was that some specials weren’t on the menu, and gluten free options were only available in some dishes. E.g my husband ordered the cheese board, but had to have toasted gf bread, as no gf crackers or oatcakes were available, and he needed a spoon for the Stilton ice cream on the board..tricky trying to eat it with a knife! However, that said, all the food was beautifully presented and was delicious. As it was our Golden Wedding, we enjoyed the experience and the staff made it a memorable occasion.

Staff at Knipoch go out of their way to offer me choices which are safe for me to eat within the restrictions of my food allergies so I have confidence eating there. In addition my husband said his fish & chips was the best he's had in a long while in terms of quality of food and portion size.

Janice at the Knipoch Hotel was our server. She was engaging and pleasant and did an awesome job. The atmosphere (we ate in the Stone Room) was wonderful and the food was exquisite. The Cullen Skink (soup) was to die for!!! Everything was wonderful! B

We did enjoy our lunch at the Knipoch, and will be delighted to go again when the occasion is right. It is definitely an expensive experience, but the food was very good, very well cooked and presented, The ambience in the adjoining lounge was good - friendly, warm and comfortable.

we had the cod and katsu trout both very tasty and well presented. I thought the katsu was a bit tomato based but very enjoyable
