In 2017 Holly and Ali moved down to Plymouth for a new life away from London. Passion for all things pizza and years of hospitality life brought about Knead pizza.

Starting in Plymouth market and honing our skills to try and work out our perfect pizza. We moved into The LHA garden in 2019 due to that thing we wont mention and started cooking with flame. We got ever closer to cracking and adapting the truest of neopolitan style dough into a perfectly soft, neo neapolitan light and flavoursome crust.

Now after a stroke of luck we’ve moved to the amazing Prysten House 1498. It’s one of the oldest buildings in Plymouth built by Thomas Yogge, with a real Tuscan villa vibe and courtyard, Grade 1 listed and also the inspiration for Yogge our new pizza pal.

    Everything about our visit was fantastic! It was recommended by someone and we loved the amazing food and staff were extremely welcoming. The restaurant is a lovely building and great atmosphere

    Absolutely gorgeous food, faultless. Quick service lovely waitress and a beautiful setting. Only negative I tried all week to phone I also emailed it was my sons 18 birthday and I would have liked something special for him ie a balloon on the table. Nobody answered the phone or replied to my email so nothing special was done for him. I don’t think the service charge should not be automatically added to the bill, we did get a great service, but its customer discretion to tip. I did feel the bill was a little high nearly £190 for seven of us two of those children. But a beautiful place and lovely food

    Fantastic evening eating the best Pizza outside of Naples. Birthday celebration made even better by the willing and hardworking staff. And all very good value to boot.

    Had a very enjoyable evening at Knead pizza. The building is absolutely amazing, 16th century merchants house. We sat in a courtyard and felt like we had gone back in time. The food was great, unusual pizza toppings. We had butternut squash and goats cheese cooked in wood fired oven and we added cheesy marmite bread. Delicious. Tiramisu for desert. The staff were very friendly and overall bill reasonable for the quality of food.

    The pizza was absolutely fantastic. Light and fluffy dough with a gorgeous wood fired taste, and great toppings. The quality is top notch. Unfortunately the poor service spoiled our evening. It was a fairly busy Saturday evening and perhaps there weren’t enough staff on the rota, as we were left waiting for ages between every stage. We had to get up and ask to order food, then again to order desserts and pay. We tried hard not to let it spoil the evening but the staff were very inattentive and given the bill was over £90, it was disappointing. Also when booking on Open Table you are asked if your booking is for a special occasion - I entered ‘birthday’, as we were there for my son’s birthday. But there was no mention or acknowledgment of this by the staff on the evening so I’m not sure why they bothered asking. Overall, wonderful pizza but not a great experience service wise.

    Everything was delicious! Rocked mine and my partners socks off! We felt the price might have been a little high but other than that probs will come again! :)

    The pizzas toppings of chicken , pumpkin etc were not hot and seemed to have been added after the pizza was cooked which meant that the pizzas weren’t very hot to start with and cold before finished. A 12.5 % service charge although discretionary was impossible to remove from the bill , and a reduced tip plus the bill ended up being paid in cash.
