    Visited for Juneteenth. The restaurant is decorated very nicely. We were welcomed as soon as we entered and seated immediately. The food was delicious! We'll definitely be back soon.

    After spending 300+ dollars with a desire to patronage a black owned business once again the mark was missed. The shrimp abd grits lacked flavor and the restaurant did not have any cayenne pepper or crushed red pepper. The drinks took a very long time when it was early and not many people in the restaurant. Ourpee server seemed uninterested and not very personable two things that are required if one is in the service industry. I speak as one who has worked in every position in a restaurant up to being a General Manager. As we were wrapping up we felt rushed while ordering out Uber. Also couple of times a member in my party as well as me was still eating when the server tried to take our plates. The silver lining at the end was a different server who took our picture who was clearly leaning in to providing outstanding service. Overall I am disappointed and will not return. Perhaps my expectations are too high...I do not think so thus I end where I began, the mark was missed.

    The food was great, we got the lamb with a side of asparagus and Mac and cheese. The lamb was delicious and asparagus was well seasoned. It was also my birthday and they provided a beautiful addition with a peach cobbler cheesecake. A wonderful visit to DC and great people.

    Skillet honey cornbread was perfect (made to order). Fried catfish is killer. Spinach stuffed salmon very moist (ate every inch). Full bar and drinks were just right.

    Great food. Great service. Food selection was beyond the ordinary and unpretentious. Prices was very reasonable. I enjoyed my experience so much that I had to go back a few days later.

    Food was amazing!! I attended for Mother’s Day/Graduation weekend. They offered an unlimited 90min brunch with mimosas. Black owned business, very chic decor along with historical influences.

    This is my second time going to kitchen savages. The service was a little slow this time, although it was busy, and it did seem that there was only one server, one bartender, and the manager. Overall, the food was fantastic again the atmosphere was nice and the drinks were very good.

    Although the food was delicious and the aesthetics were pleasing I would NOT recommend this establishment. Customer service was just not there with this place. There were horrible wait times without being informed beforehand. Drinks came out with the food. Presentation was not a factor as the menu prices and services fees accumulated should reflect 5 star service and presentation. We were offered plastic silverware because of how busy they were. We complained to the manager and the owner but no issues were resolved. The manager even took a sip out of my friend’s drink to see if he could understand his complaint about the drink being watered down. That was simply a first for me in hospitality! So ethically and morally wrong of him to do that! He was very condescending and simply gave excuses instead of solutions. Although my appetizer after receiving it after an hour of waiting was delicious - I’d never return. The service was just simply awful - something I hope I never have to experience again. The price point just did not match the quality received. I felt robbed of my $60 for ONE appetizer and ONE drink because there’s service fees built into your bill already. It’s been almost a week as I’m writing this review and I’m still peeved at my experience, smh!
