James Beard semi-finalist for Best Chef Texas and Top Chef Season 19 judge Kiran Verma, considered the ‘godmother of Indian fine dining,’ has created world-class north Indian cuisine at her eponymous restaurant. Come and enjoy good food and great service in a fabulous environment.

Signature dishes include rack of lamb with aloo methi, Chilean sea bass with mango chutney, chicken tikka masala and a vegetarian thali. Specialty cocktails range from the Jahangir Lassi (house-infused pineapple rum, passion fruit, mango lassi, pistachio) to a Chai Old Fashioned to a Cardamom Basil Gin & Tonic.

The restaurant serves Afternoon Tea every Friday, Saturday and Sunday - a four-course Indian and English tea experience. Chef Kiran has created her own chai blend.

Dans son restaurant éponyme, Kiran Verma, demi-finaliste du James Beard en 2023, sert des plats inventifs qui associent des saveurs et des techniques indiennes traditionnelles à des ingrédients locaux. Les résultats sont tout à fait uniques : caille texane tandoori avec chutney de figues ou salade de fromage de chèvre et de betteraves avec noix de cajou masala, par exemple. Le week-end est un moment particulièrement agréable pour s'y rendre, car à l'heure du thé, le restaurant propose son chaï, une spécialité signature de l'établissement.

For my spouse and I Kiran is the best Indian restaurant in Houston. We love the food, the atmosphere, the ambiance, the decor and the service. Mrs. Kiran is always friendly with the patrons as she tours the tables. We have no hesitation to travel from the Woodlands to enjoy a wonderful Indian dinner. We shall be back very soon.

My favourite restaurant in Houston. I love everything about it. I only wish it were closer, but still worth it to drive down from The Woodlands.

Met friends for cocktails and small plates in the bar. Service, food, attention to detail was excellent. Restaurant management is very professional.

The food was excellent as usual! But the service was a little slower than my past experiences at Kiran’s. It took over 30min between each course. I imagine they were just busy since it was a Saturday night, and maybe under-staffed for the crowd? We arrived at 6:30pm and we didn’t leave the restaurant until almost 10:30pm. The servers were very friendly and helpful throughout our time, and we didn’t mind the delay since we were spending time catching up with friends anyway, but just an observation that if we had had any place else to get to after dinner it would have been tough.

We had the most amazing waiter who ordered for us and was spot on with the selections. The manager came over and spoke with us as well and was very nice and gave us a tour of the private rooms and info on booking parties. The food was spectacular and we learned so much about the flavors and how everything is specially curated and made in-house. This was more than a great dinner- it was an amazing experience!

Kiran's is a very large and rather opulent Indian restaurant. The food is toned down to please western tastes but it is excellent. Every dish we had was beautifully perfumed with spices and we had some of the most comfortable seats of any restaurant in Houston. It is pricey for Indian but well worth it. The cocktais were inventive a delicious too!

Loved the smoked duck naanza and salmon! Creative flavors. We will be back to try afternoon tea sometime.
