Known for its bustling atmosphere, energetic staff and unique menu of Japanese tapas, KINKA IZAKAYA is a favourite among the diverse crowd of both locals and tourists in Toronto and Montreal. A pioneer of the izakaya dining experience in Canada, KINKA IZAKAYA first opened in the winter of 2009, introducing Toronto to the world of Japanese pubs. Featuring an extensive drink menu, dishes at KINKA IZAKAYA can be paired with a selection of refreshing beers, premium sake and Japanese-inspired cocktails.

Service was amazing and the food was delicious and served quickly and efficiently. Location is very convenient as well if going to Scotiabank Arena for a show or sporting event. Would highly recommend!

Best sushi ever. We ordered flavor combo’s we’ve never had before. Original and so yummy. Their miso soup is off the chart. Super fresh and with an amazing umami flavor. My husband had sea urchin, which isn’t always available, so he was very pleased. We were welcomed with flair and the service was very good. So happy I found this restaurant online when looking for dinner options during our brief stay in Toronto. When we’re revisit Toronto we’ll definitely go back.

We were a group of Korean, Japanese and American and Kinka satisfied all of us! All the dishes we ordered—Edamame beans, aburi sushi, beef yaki udon and Kurosawa beer were so delectable. Thanks to the restaurant staff and the chefs for a happy dinner experience!

For the price, I expected better quality in the sushi. The aburi sushi were not as advertised like in the pictures. The grilled marks were very subtle and did not feel warm. The lobster tempura bit on the other sushi I ordered were cold and not crispy. Felt like it had been sitting for some time. The interior of the restaurant is very pleasant and nice but the quality of the food could have been better, in my opinion.
